I've had no issues.

by:

Well built....very good quality welds.

by:

It’s beefy and solid. The mounting bracket square holes had to be cut in a smidge and he added two more support bars.. but all in all. My welder said it would tow 11-12 k. Not the 16k I was told. But hey. I’m okay with that. There was a shipping issue which forced me to reschedule a few things, that is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise I am supper happy with how it turned out.

by:

It is very well built and the powder coating is very tough, took a good grinding to get it off for the welds. Good price as well. I used it for my 2006 Bounder 35E, not because it was a high rate hitch, as I did not need one, but this was the only one that would lower the hitch to a more normal height from the ground. The old hitch was so high a 10" deep was not enough to use a trailer parallel to the ground. Now I can hook up a lot easier and not worry about scraping. Looks good too.

by:

Great quality product from Curt . Can be easy installation depending on the application.. mine more difficult because of aluminum alloy frame, so will have to do some reinforcing.

by:

I put this on my 03 Freightliner Columbia. It does everything I want it to. It is bolted and welded.
I like it so much that a bought another one and put it on my old school bus. That one is just bolted on.

by:

attached this hitch to my 1984 American General 5 ton military truck. Had to do some modification to air lines and drill a few holes but it is perfect for pulling civilian trailers with the M 813.

by:

Perfect fit on my 2009 blue bird

by:

Added (welded) to our diesel pusher Motorhome and have no issues and really no worries while towing whatever we feel we need while camping.

by:

Fast shipping

by:

Well, I really respect the fact that they waited for one year before asking for a review, they offer a 2 inch and a 2 1/2 inch receiver the 2 1/2 inch receiver would obviously be a larger rectangle to accommodate a half an inch, the vertical uprights I received had holes pre-cut to accommodate a 2 1/2 inch receiver I ordered a 2 inch receiver, needless to say, there was an abundance of slop, half inch gaps, requiring a lot of fabrication on either side of the vertical uprights, knowing this now, going with the 2 1/2 receiver should have saved a ton of unnecessary fabrication time.

by:

Very happy with this hitch. The size of the end plates matched the frame on our old truck and with the class V weight rating, our old truck can do a few other things around the farm now. Thank you.

by:

I think you guys should send me some ap parel!

by:

Exactly what we wanted. Worked perfect on our recent, extended trip to Alaska and back.

by:

Solid as stone!!

by:

I welded this up on my 2004 GMC converted school bus, it worked great with minimal bumper notching

by:

Great product. Fast delivery

by:

Brent was amazing with his attention to detail. He made sure I received the correct hitch and a follow up on my delivery. Thanks again

by:

Was able to position the hitch where I wanted on a chassis cab and it works great.

by:

Works great!

by:

it was nice product to buy put it was to small had to return it and i order a bigger one thanks etrailer

by:

This hitch was exactly what was needed for my landscaping customer's small dump body truck. It replaced the original custom hitch with only minor modifications to accommodate the cargo body. I have done considerable work for this customer over many years. No issues reported with this job. All good!! Thanks to Curt and etrailer for great products and stellar service. —

by:

Great product. Super faster shipping. Excellent customer service

by:

I called to ask what was the inside dimension of the big square and it was said to be 4 1/2" square, that wasn't even close, it was 3 5/8" square.
But I was lucky I needed 3 1/4 square. I'm modifying this to fit my fisher plow bracket so I have a front hitch to use around the yard. Nobody makes one. I own a machine shop so by getting this saves me a lot of work. So by receiving the wrong info I rating you less than EXCELLENT

  • Recommended Flat Tow System for 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 4x4
Your 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab 4x4 curb weight is 5,300 lbs based on my research. To flat tow this vehicle, I recommend upgrading your 5,000 lb hitch to the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch # 15903 which is a universal fit for frames between 18 and 61 inches wide. Then for your flat towing setup, I recommend you begin with the Roadmaster MX Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-3176-3 and use Loctite Threadlocker # LT37420 for the installation. Then for your tow...

For your BlueBird School Bus conversion, there isn't a specific confirmed fit Class 5 trailer hitch receiver. The universal fit weld on hitch is your best option. The Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch # 15903 you asked from is a great option as is the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver - Weld On - Class V - 2" # 41991-07. Both of these will have a 2 inch receiver opening. These hitches will need to be welded bare metal to metal for the correct strength....

  • How to Increase the Weight Capacity of a Trailer Hitch for an RV
I do have an option for you but I am not aware of any way to increase the tongue weight capacity of a trailer hitch save for a weight distribution system which does not apply for hitch mounted accessories like a scooter carrier. Therefore, your only option would be to replace the trailer hitch you have now with one rated for more tongue weight and for that I recommend the Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch part # 15903. If you are not an experienced welder than I recommend taking...

We have many hitch options for a truck that has a lift gate, but very few of them are a simple bolt on custom application. There are many different bracket options for a hitch like # 4907 and # 4916.

This is also a class V universal hitch with a 2" receiver. It however includes brackets that provide a 7" drop. It can also be bolted on or welded. • Recommended Receiver Hitch for Class C Motorhome on 2003 Ford E-450 Chassis
We don't offer a bolt-on hitch that would offer the capacity you're looking for, but we do offer some weld-on options that would get you where you need to be. In order to choose the correct hitch, you'll need to determine the amount of drop you need by measuring the vertical distance between the underside of the frame members and the lowest point of the rear bumper. You'll want to choose a hitch with a drop greater than your measurement. For a 3 inch drop, use # 15901, if that's not enough,...

You will need to go with a universal option and the one I recommend is the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets item # 15903. This is a class V hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 15,000 lbs towing capacity and a 1,500 lbs maximum tongue weight. This hitch must be welded on. There is no way to bolt it to your bus...

This gives you a 2" receiver and the brackets can be modified and spaced out up to 60" apart so you'll need a shop to help get this installed. Unfortunately there aren't any hitches designed specifically for an ambulance which is why a weld-on application is the best option.
