Great quality product from Curt . Can be easy installation depending on the application.. mine more difficult because of aluminum alloy frame, so will have to do some reinforcing.

It’s beefy and solid. The mounting bracket square holes had to be cut in a smidge and he added two more support bars.. but all in all. My welder said it would tow 11-12 k. Not the 16k I was told. But hey. I’m okay with that. There was a shipping issue which forced me to reschedule a few things, that is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise I am supper happy with how it turned out.

by:

It is very well built and the powder coating is very tough, took a good grinding to get it off for the welds. Good price as well. I used it for my 2006 Bounder 35E, not because it was a high rate hitch, as I did not need one, but this was the only one that would lower the hitch to a more normal height from the ground. The old hitch was so high a 10" deep was not enough to use a trailer parallel to the ground. Now I can hook up a lot easier and not worry about scraping. Looks good too.

by:

attached this hitch to my 1984 American General 5 ton military truck. Had to do some modification to air lines and drill a few holes but it is perfect for pulling civilian trailers with the M 813.

by:

I put this on my 03 Freightliner Columbia. It does everything I want it to. It is bolted and welded.
I like it so much that a bought another one and put it on my old school bus. That one is just bolted on.

by:

Perfect fit on my 2009 blue bird

by:

Added (welded) to our diesel pusher Motorhome and have no issues and really no worries while towing whatever we feel we need while camping.

by:

Well, I really respect the fact that they waited for one year before asking for a review, they offer a 2 inch and a 2 1/2 inch receiver the 2 1/2 inch receiver would obviously be a larger rectangle to accommodate a half an inch, the vertical uprights I received had holes pre-cut to accommodate a 2 1/2 inch receiver I ordered a 2 inch receiver, needless to say, there was an abundance of slop, half inch gaps, requiring a lot of fabrication on either side of the vertical uprights, knowing this now, going with the 2 1/2 receiver should have saved a ton of unnecessary fabrication time.

by:

Very happy with this hitch. The size of the end plates matched the frame on our old truck and with the class V weight rating, our old truck can do a few other things around the farm now. Thank you.

by:

I think you guys should send me some ap parel!

by:

Exactly what we wanted. Worked perfect on our recent, extended trip to Alaska and back.

  • Can the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch Be Drilled and Bolted
The Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch part # C87CR is designed to be welded to the frame of a vehicle. I cannot recommend bolting and drilling unfortunately. The frame will need to be clean and clear of obstructions before welding. In regards to the actual welding, this would need to be done by a trainer professional, make sure precautions are taken such as unhooking the battery. That said, I'm no welding expert so you would need to refer one for these types of questions.

  • Recommended 2-1/2" Trailer Hitch for a 2006 Thomas School Bus
I do have an option for you but there aren't any custom fit trailer hitch options for a 2006 Thomas School Bus. That said, we do still have universal options which can be installed either via welding or cutting/drilling. For this, I recommend the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch part # C87CR which uses very large side plates so you have a lot of room for error when modifying them to make fit. It has a class v rating with 2-1/2" opening which is great for heavy duty towing.

  • Does the 2.5 Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Hitch Come with Longer Brackets
The Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Hitch part # C37CR is offered with longer brackets, part # C87CR. The brackets are a bit taller than you were looking for but could be cut down easily.

  • Availability Of Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2000 International 4900 Truck
There are a few options for your 2000 International 4900 Truck, but there is not a custom fit receiver available. The Super Titan 4000 Weld-On Trailer Hitch with 3" Receiver Opening, 25,000 lbs. # 38124 could work but requires the frame on your truck to be 34 to 34-1/2" wide. This option has a 4000lb tongue weight rating and a 25000lb trailer weight rating, but uses the less common 3" receiver. Another option is the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets - 2-1/2" Receiver -...

  • Trailer Receiver Hitch for Flatbed Cab and Chassis Pickups
The side plates in the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C87CR have only been tested by Curt in the vertical position. With that they are not sure how the mounting brackets will hold up if mounted horizontally. I recommend the Buyers Products Flatbed/Flatbed Dump Hitch Plate Bumper with 2" Receiver # 3371809055 for you to consider. It Is rated for 17,000lbs with a 2" receiver and is specifically designed to deal with the overhang caused by flatbeds. The hitch is designed to fit trucks...

  • Will Curt Trailer hitch Receiver C15860 Fit 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 With Service Body
I reached out to my contact at Curt and it is possible that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V Commercial Duty - 2-1/2" # C15860 will fit your 2016 GM Sierra 2500 with a Service Body as long as it did not start life as a cab and chassis truck. The main thing to look for is that when the service body was installed that they did not modify the frame of the truck as the # C15860 uses factory mounting points. If your truck is a cab and chassis model, or if the frame was...

I do have some weld-on options for you as I unfortunately do not have any custom fit bolt on options and I cannot look at the detailed specs for your 2022 Tiffin Allegro Bus 45 OPP Motorhome. We have 2 sets of the Curt Class 5 receivers with either a 44" or 62" wide receiver tube which are all rated for up to 20,000lbs trailer weight and 2,000lbs tongue weight. You will need to select the correct width based on your frame and the amount of drop you will need to clear any rear fascia panels....

  • Heavy Duty Hitch for 2018 Coachmen Pursuit Precision Motorhome 27DS
I do have a solution, but the # C15800 will not fit your 2018 Coachmen Pursuit Precision Motorhome 27DS. For a heavy duty hitch you need the Curt Class 5 Universal Hitch # C87CR. This fits frames up to 44" and has the same high capacity with a 2-1/2" receiver. If you want a 2" receiver you can use the # 15902 instead. You will need to take the hitch to a certified welder for installation.

  • Class 5 Hitch with 20K Capacity for 2015 Ford F-550
Sure do, as long as the distance between the outer edges of the frame members is 34 inches and the vertical distance between the bottom of the frame members and the underside of the bumper is less than 6 inches, the Curt # C15845 Class V hitch is what you'd need. The hitch has a 20K towing/2700 lb tongue weight capacity and features a 2-1/2 inch receiver tube.
