It’s beefy and solid. The mounting bracket square holes had to be cut in a smidge and he added two more support bars.. but all in all. My welder said it would tow 11-12 k. Not the 16k I was told. But hey. I’m okay with that. There was a shipping issue which forced me to reschedule a few things, that is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise I am supper happy with how it turned out.

by:

It is very well built and the powder coating is very tough, took a good grinding to get it off for the welds. Good price as well. I used it for my 2006 Bounder 35E, not because it was a high rate hitch, as I did not need one, but this was the only one that would lower the hitch to a more normal height from the ground. The old hitch was so high a 10" deep was not enough to use a trailer parallel to the ground. Now I can hook up a lot easier and not worry about scraping. Looks good too.

by:

Great quality product from Curt . Can be easy installation depending on the application.. mine more difficult because of aluminum alloy frame, so will have to do some reinforcing.

by:

I put this on my 03 Freightliner Columbia. It does everything I want it to. It is bolted and welded.
I like it so much that a bought another one and put it on my old school bus. That one is just bolted on.

by:

attached this hitch to my 1984 American General 5 ton military truck. Had to do some modification to air lines and drill a few holes but it is perfect for pulling civilian trailers with the M 813.

by:

Perfect fit on my 2009 blue bird

by:

Added (welded) to our diesel pusher Motorhome and have no issues and really no worries while towing whatever we feel we need while camping.

by:

Fast shipping

by:

Very happy with this hitch. The size of the end plates matched the frame on our old truck and with the class V weight rating, our old truck can do a few other things around the farm now. Thank you.

by:

Well, I really respect the fact that they waited for one year before asking for a review, they offer a 2 inch and a 2 1/2 inch receiver the 2 1/2 inch receiver would obviously be a larger rectangle to accommodate a half an inch, the vertical uprights I received had holes pre-cut to accommodate a 2 1/2 inch receiver I ordered a 2 inch receiver, needless to say, there was an abundance of slop, half inch gaps, requiring a lot of fabrication on either side of the vertical uprights, knowing this now, going with the 2 1/2 receiver should have saved a ton of unnecessary fabrication time.

I think you guys should send me some ap parel!

by:

Exactly what we wanted. Worked perfect on our recent, extended trip to Alaska and back.

by:

Solid as stone!!

by:

I welded this up on my 2004 GMC converted school bus, it worked great with minimal bumper notching

by:

Great product. Fast delivery

by:

Brent was amazing with his attention to detail. He made sure I received the correct hitch and a follow up on my delivery. Thanks again

by:

Was able to position the hitch where I wanted on a chassis cab and it works great.

by:

This hitch was exactly what was needed for my landscaping customer's small dump body truck. It replaced the original custom hitch with only minor modifications to accommodate the cargo body. I have done considerable work for this customer over many years. No issues reported with this job. All good!! Thanks to Curt and etrailer for great products and stellar service. —

by:

Works great!

by:

it was nice product to buy put it was to small had to return it and i order a bigger one thanks etrailer

by:

Great product. Super faster shipping. Excellent customer service

by:

I called to ask what was the inside dimension of the big square and it was said to be 4 1/2" square, that wasn't even close, it was 3 5/8" square.
But I was lucky I needed 3 1/4 square. I'm modifying this to fit my fisher plow bracket so I have a front hitch to use around the yard. Nobody makes one. I own a machine shop so by getting this saves me a lot of work. So by receiving the wrong info I rating you less than EXCELLENT

  • Can 2-1/2" Trailer Hitch Be Installed on a 2000 Alpine RV
Thanks for reaching out! For your application I recommend checking out the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-On Hitch which has a 2-1/2" hitch receiver, is rated for 20,000 lbs towing, and comes as part # C97CR for a 9" drop or part # C59CR for an 18" drop. Since these are universal you'll need to check the compatibility with your specific frame, but the crossmember measures 62" wide and can be cut to fit, and the weld-on installation means it can fit multiple applications. I'm attaching some...

  • 2006 E-450 Super Duty Shuttle Bus Trailer Hitch Receiver
For your 2006 Ford F-450 Shuttle Bus you are going to need to use a universal hitch. For this you will need to measure how wide your frame rails are apart on the rear of your bus. Then you will need to know how much drop from the frame rails to the bottom of the bumper is required for the hitch to fit. The Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C47CR will fit frames that are 18"-44" wide and brackets have a 9" drop. The Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch # C99CR will also fit frame...

  • Hitch For C5500 GMC Truck
For a commercial vehicle such as the GMC C5500 you will need an universal hitch such as the Curt # C97CR Class-5, with 2-1/2” receiver, and fitting frame beams 18” to 62” in width with a 20,000 pound tow capacity. If you do not need one as wide you could select the 44” wide Curt # C37CR, or the 44” wide Curt # C99CR hitch with an 18” drop and 16,000 pound tow rating. I have included links to each of these items.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit on 1998 Chevy 3500 Cab & Chassis
A stake body should be referring to a cab and chassis, and we do have a trailer hitch receiver that fits a 1998 Chevy 3500 cab and chassis. You just need to make sure that your frame measures 34 inches outside to outside, and if it does then the correct hitch is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14082. If your '98 Chevy has a frame which is not 34 inches wide, you can still add a hitch, but it would need to be a universal weld-on application. The correct one would depend on the exact...

There are no custom fit options for a hitch on your Gulfstream (I was unable to find any reference to a Reese 38535), but there are a couple of options for heavy-duty hitches you may be able to use, which are weld-on options. - Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets # C97CR - Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets # C59CR Both have a 20,000 lb towing capacity and 2,000 lb tongue weight capacity and will weld onto frames between 18" and 62" wide. • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a Thomas Saf-T-Liner School Bus
The best option to add a hitch to your 2006 Thomas Saf-T-Liner School Bus is going to be the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets item # C97CR. This is a universal hitch that fits frames from 18" to 62" wide. This is our highest rated universal hitch and it has a 20,000 lbs towing capacity. The included brackets will drop of 9" from your bus's frame. There are no custom fit hitches for your Thomas Sf-T-Liner and this is going to need to be welded to your frame for the capacity...

  • Trailer Hitch Option For 2015 Freightliner Cascadia 125
Since there isn't going to be a custom-fit hitch for your 2015 Freightliner Cascadia 125, what you'll need is a weld-on application. This will work so long as the frame of your truck is between 18 inches and 62 inches wide. There are a couple of options, depending on the drop you need: - 18 Inch Drop: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch - 2-1/2" Receiver # C59CR - 9 Inch Drop: Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch - 2-1/2" Receiver # C97CR

  • Parts Needed to Tow 1999 Jeep Cherokee With School Bus
We do have some hitch solutions for you, but they'll need to be welded in place in order to install them, as none of the universal fit hitches we offer can be bolted on. What you'll need to go with is a universal-fit hitch designed for a service body truck, and in order to choose the correct one, you'll need to measure the needed drop, which is the vertical distance between the underside of the frame member and the lowest point of the rear bumper. You'd then choose the hitch with a drop...

We don't offer a custom hitch for your 2021 Tiffin Allegro Red 340 38LL, so you will need to use a weld-on universal hitch. You can clean the area with a wire brush, but I recommend getting a wire bit for your drill to really get the bare metal showing.
