Video Transcript for Review of Draw-Tite Heavy Duty Receiver Hitch - Mounting Brackets - 4907

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the seven inch mounting bracket kit for the Draw-Tite class V service body trailer hitches. Now, these are universal mounting brackets that'll let you mount the trailer hitch cross tube to the frame of your heavy-duty or commercial vehicle. These brackets are required for installation of either the Draw-Tite class V service body hitch. Part number 41990 or part number 41991.

Both of those we do sell separately on our website. And I just wanted to show you the picture of there's what the cross tube looks like with the hitch receiver in the middle. Now, I did mention two part numbers. The difference in those two part numbers are just the length of the tube. One, it's 44 inches long.

The other is 66 inches long. And as I mentioned, we do carry both of those on our website. Now, these brackets are designed to install to the vehicle. They are either a weld-on, or you can see the holes for a bolt-on installation. And again, another insert just to show you what the cross tube looks like with these brackets installed.

Basically, the bracket right here has a square opening on it that'll slide onto each end of the hitch cross tube. And then you slide it along the tube and adjust it to fit the frame width that's needed for your application. And then it's welded onto the cross tube. And then after the brackets are welded on them, then you can either bolt on or weld on the brackets and cross tube to your vehicle's frame. Now, once these are installed, the center of the hitch receiver opening will be about seven inches from the top of the vehicle's frame rail.

Basically, when you install these brackets, this top here will be right at the top of the vehicle's frame rail and the hitch tube will be in here. So, if you measure from the top here down to the center, let me just show you, it should get you about seven inches. That's your seven inch drop. Now, these are a nice, black powder coat finish over an e-coat base to help resist corrosion. Has two plates, one for each side. Measurements on the plates themself, we measure the width from here to here. You can see it's gonna be right at nine inches wide. And the overall height from the very bottom of the plate to the top of the plate is about 9 1/2 inches tall. But that should do it for the review on the seven inch mounting bracket kit for the Draw-Tite class V service body trailer hitches..

Defiantly looks like a great product! I’m using it for more than just a trailer hitch, so hopefully it will work. But I can’t say enough for the help I got from the staff, especially Jamie B !

Great product. But even better Sevice from etrailer as usual. Always a great buying experience.

1954 3100 Chevrolet. Ya just aren't going to get a hitch at Walmart for this truck. This is an awesome solution! Ya have to be able to weld but the end result is great! Thanks George!

  • Recommended Hitch for Turtle Top Van Terra Built on 2000 E350
For what you are describing, I think the best option is to use the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube, # 41990; this is a 2" receiver Class V hitch. this is to be welded in to place using either the 16" Weld-On Bracket Kit for Draw-Tite Class V Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch, # 4916 or, the 7" version, # 4907. This will provide you with a Class V hitch and multiple placement options best fit your needs. If I follow correctly your last statement of the...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 22 Passenger Bus Built on a 2002 Ford E-450 Van Chassis
There are no confirmed trailer hitch fits for the E-450 cutaways but I do have a solution that could work for you. You can use a weld-on heavy duty truck hitch # 41990. Then you can use 7 inch brackets # 4907, or 16 inch brackets # 4916. This requires a qualified professional welder for installation. For a wiring harness you could use universal harness # 118344. This is a powered wiring harness meaning it gets the power for the trailer lights form the vehicle battery. This helps protect...

  • Travel Trailer Hitch Recommendation for Cargo Carrier for Small ATV
For what you are looking to do I would recommend a multi-fit hitch like the part # 41990 that has a 16k capacity. This is a weld on hitch that would require either the 7 inch drop brackets part # 4907 or the 16 inch brackets part # 4916. This hitch can work great on frames that are up to 44 inches apart. If your frame is wider than that you would want the part # 13703 that is adjustable for frames that are from 22 to 72 inches in width.

To use the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube # 41990 on your 2015 Ford E-350 Cutaway you are going to need to measure to determine if you need the 7" Weld-On Bracket Kit # 4907 or 16" Weld-On Bracket Kit # 4916 because this hitch is not designed for one specific vehicle. Simply measure from the top of the frame on your E-350 to the bottom of the bumper. If you need less than 5-9/16" to clear the bumper you will use 7" brackets # 4907; if you need less than 14-3/8"...

Yes, you can install the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch # 41990 upside down.
