Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Class 5 service body hitch receiver with a 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch opening. This Class 5 service body hitch receiver will handle towing loads up to 16,000 pounds. It is designed for service body applications and it is a weld-on installation. The hitch receiver comes with a 2 1/2 inch receiver tube for standard 2 1/2 inch items and accessories. It comes with the standard 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin and clip to secure those accessories into the receiver tube.Now, the mounting plates, these are included. These are nice, durable steel construction.
They are adjustable along the main tube of the hitch. They go on, and then you can slide them to where you need them. The plates measure 9 1/2 inches tall by 9 inches wide. The safety chain connection points located right there, it's those openings on either side of the receiver tube, nice large design. They measure 3 inches wide by 1 3/8 inches deep.
The tube itself measures 44 inches long, and this is a 3 1/2 inch by 3 1/2 inch tube. On the ends we have two caps that are welded on. Those are steel tube caps that are welded on to keep out dirt and grime and prevent corrosion to the hitch. This unit's made from a durable carbon steel. It has a corrosion resistant black powder-coated finish.
Maximum gross trailer weight capacity is 16,000 pounds. The maximum tow weight capacity is 1,600 pounds.That's going to do it for today's look at the Class 5 service body hitch receiver with the 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch receiver tube opening.

Should work great. Going to mount it on Box truck on top of 44" crossmember. Will send a pic when it is finished.
Hitch fit as advertised, tech support was helpful with dimensions, etc. 4-star review is due to half the hardware missing upon delivery. May consider double-boxing hardware for shipping.
