XL Silent Hitch Pin DiagramXL Silent Hitch Pin Close Up

Place the block inside your ball mount or hitch accessory, and line up the hole in the block with the pin hole in your ball mount. Slide your ball mount into your hitch and insert the hitch pin. To activate the anti-rattle device, just twist the pin to tighten it down. Doing this will pull the accessory up against the wall of your hitch receiver, thus keeping the accessory from moving around inside your hitch. No more annoying clanking or vibrating.

The 90 degree lock goes on the end of the anti-rattle pin to provide security for your hitch-mounted accessories. It swivels for easy access in tight spaces. Two rubber-coated, stainless steel keys are included with the lock. A sturdy rubber dust cap comes attached to the barrel lock so that you can easily cover the lock cylinder, thus ensuring that no dirt or grime will get in to damage the lock.

Super fast delivery, great instructional videos, excellent products! The anti rattle hitch pin in combination with the BW hitch is outstanding! Hitch works great with GMC multi pro tailgate.

by:

Finally found a lock that will work on the new Toyota Sequoia hitch. You should add the Sequoia to your description, I know others have had issues finding on that works. Great service as always.

by:

I recently got a 2019 Tacoma SR5 and needed to purchase a locking pin for an adapter I purchased for my mtb rack that fits 1 1/4”. I first bought the standard size locking pin for this brand, the one that is about an inch shorter. It wasn’t long enough for my 2 inch receiver so I had to return it. I then re-purchased this XL version which is about an inch longer. This works perfectly as I can now fit the locking mechanism on the end of the pin. If you have a 2016+ Tacoma, then you need this locking pin to fit the receiver. Happy so far as I just tested it out today and had no wobble.

by:

Bought this to extend my bike rack away from the truck camper door. Added a anti rattle clamp and yhe setup has been perfect.

by:

The lock nut will not retain the tightness desired to keep the hitch quiet, disappointed to day the least.

by:

I have a CURT CL-3 hitch # 13650 and this hitch lock was the only one that fit. It needed the XL size. My hitch has 2 holes on the receiver. One on the left and one on the right side. The left side is a small hole with threads and the right side is a bigger hole and this lock fits. Easy to install and works well. Ships fast.

by:

Too soon to see if has any durability. It did stop the rattle.

by:

Great item
Best Costermer service in
the Buisiness.

by:

Love this hitch lock. Works well.

by:

It’s still works as advertised.

by:

No more Rattle in my case. i keep one 5/8 key in my trunk to remove trailer hitch

by:

Much nicer than regular rattling hitch pins, plus more secure.

by:

Perfect fit for my needs.I have a 2 1/2" receiver with a reducer to 2" and there is no rattle of any kind even with an extension of 14" (to be able to open tailgate) and the bike rack.

Still works great and looks new.

by:

Great product and keeps our bike racks from rattling around with the hitch reducer. Held up will over the past year.

One thing to keep in mind is that this style anti-rattle lock will NOT work with bike racks or other attachments unless they are hollow. That being said, it will NOT work with any Kuat rack or extension unless you remove their internal anti-rattle mechanism.

by:

At first I thought how is this going to work? But once I read the instructions, the product is she pretty ingenious. Went together very easy and works great.

by:

This product was bought to allow me to use my Reese Eclipse bike rack on my 2500 Dodge Ram truck. The truck came with the standard 2.5 hitch package and the original anti rattle pin only fits a standard 2 inch hitch. Now to wait for my next trip to try this lock and pin set up.

After a year the lock is working great. I wish I could use it more but the pandemic has slowed my travel plans.

by:

Fair for light duty. Works when used to tow my boat or bike trailer.
But when I put one on my tow hitch to tow my truck behind our motorhome it didn't last ill be trip.
The threads locked up and it had to be cut off.
Unfortunately I bought a few of these before I discovered how weak they are.

Lets Go Aero recommends using a petroleum-based lubricant on the threaded portion of the lock to prevent it from seizing.

by:

So far, so good. The receiver lock was a little difficult to install, had a hard time getting it to thread initially, was rather frustrating, but after taking it out and putting it back in a couple of times, we were able to finally get it to tighten. Then we were unable to get the key out of the lock unless we loosened it about a half turn with a wrench - so looks like we will have to be sure we have the right size wrench in the toolbox if we ever need to take it off because when it is tightened securely, you can't get the key to come out of the lock. Other than that, it seems to work great, no rattle and the lock is definitely secure. The cap over the lock is a great feature too.

Jackie R.

4/12/2017

Nope - had to literally destroy it the 2nd time we tried to take it off, couldnt get it to unlock. Total trash.

by:

No noise or rattling around at all. This is well worth the time and money.

by:

Unfortunately I was not able to use the actual locking mechanism to antirattle due to the way my hitch was set up but I did use the pin with the locking cap and the sleeve that goes over the actual pin itself disintegrated within three months of use. Even though the locking cap had a rubber cover over the keyhole it still needs to be lubricated Several times in order for me to be able to continue using the lock because it would stick and not be able to open.
Overall it was a poor quality and poor design in my opinion.

by:

This locking anti-rattle pin is the best! So great that I have bought three over several years. Will not rust, looks good though years of service. Highly recommend!

Jack

Still working great, looks good too! No matter which trailer is hooked up no rattle! Recommend!

by:

No more hitch rattling. Even on our gravel road.

by:

Holds the insert tight in the receiver so no rattling when not in use. Very solid and seems well made.

by:

I have had no problems with the hitch pin.
The
rubber cover has served its purpose well even in the winter time by keeping moisture out of the locking mechanism and keeping it from freezing.
I have also pulled a unsullied trailer across country using this pin and it has performed its job well. It is also quick and easy to take on and off.

by:

I purchased this anti-rattle locking hitch pin to quiet the rattling draw bar that I have my Rock Tamer mud flaps hanging on. I tow a fifth wheel trailer, so there is not enough weight on draw bar to keep it from rattling in the receiver. This pin is very easy to install and does the job perfectly. I purchased the 2" version 2 years ago for the cargo rack at the back of the trailer, and it still works like new. It can be difficult to find accessories for the 2-1/2" receiver, but etrailer.com always comes through for me.

  • 3 Anti Rattle Hitch Pin For A 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty
For your 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty I recommend the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2-1/2" Hitches - 3-1/2" Span Item # SHP2040-XL. This pin fits a standard 5/8" hitch pin hole which is the same on class three, four, and class five hitches.

The Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches - 3-1/2" Span # 63232 could fit on your 2" reducer but it will depend on how the reducer fits onto your 2 1/2" hitch. If the holes for the reducer lines up with the holes from your hitch, the lock will not fit. If the reducer's holes are away from the holes on your hitch it will fit. If the holes from the hitch and the reducer do line up, you will need the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2-1/2" Hitches - 3-1/2" Span...

With the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BW54FR all the pin points allow for some movement and as you use the mount the paint inside the components will wear away and cause for additional movement over time. We do have the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # SHP2040-XL which will help eliminate the play between the receiver on your 2018 Ram 2500 and the ball mount. This will not eliminate all the play in the ball mount since it does have the additional pins.

It sounds like some corrosion may have worked it's way into the latching mechanism of the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # SHP2040-XL that you have installed on your truck. The best advice I can give would be to liberally apply a spray lubricant like WD40 to the lock and the locking mechanism so that that it will free it up and allow it to release.
