B and W Hitch Reducer Adapter with Pinched Ends

Avoid the nuisance of having an adapter slide all the way into your receiver. The pinched ends on this reducer sleeve keep the adapter in place while you insert your bike rack or other accessory into your hitch. This ensures that the pin holes on the adapter line up with those on your hitch receiver and on your accessory.

B and W Reducer Sleeve Hitch Adapter Pin Holes

Two sets of pin holes allow for a custom fit for most factory and aftermarket hitches. Simply adjust the orientation of the pinched ends so that the pin holes line up with your receiver tube pin holes. For Ram and Ford factory hitches and Draw-Tite aftermarket hitches, insert the reducer sleeve so that the pinched ends face out to the sides. For GM factory hitches and Curt aftermarket hitches insert the sleeve so that the ends are positioned on the top and bottom of your receiver.

Excellent Selection, great products, easy website, super fast delivery, Thank you, etrailer.com!!

by:

This item performs exactly as one would expect a chunk of metal that fits into another chunk of metal. I ordered this one because it fits flush with the end of the oversized hitch on my F250. As always it was a pleasure to deal with E-Trailer!

by:

The products are great. However the packaging for the hitch was completely destroyed. Fortunately the hitch wasn’t damaged. etrailer needs to come up with different packaging for it. Also they need to review their form of shipping. Maybe ship as freight?

by:

Works great. I use a flat tip screwdriver to hold it in place when i slide in my 50# hitch head. Doesnt move so changing it out is now alot easier. There is a slot on top for the tip.

Never used it . Ended up buying a different mfg product at a towing retail store that caters to hot shots.

by:

Works as designed, neither of the holes drilled in it allow the adapter to fully seat into my class 5 hitch but it hasn't effected anything that I have noticed. The one I replaced this with did sit flush so I wasn't 100% satisfied.

by:

Great Product! Allows us to use several different hitch devices based on size~

by:

Fit's perfectly in the receiver of my 2023 Ford F-250!

by:

Great accessory for our ebike rack.

by:

Works as it should!

Still doing the job it was intended to do!

by:

I think this is going to work fine and research before I bought it indicated it was the best. The only problem is that the paint on the product is keeping me from inserting it into the receiver. I am hoping I will only have to take it off the lip on the preceding edge. I will try to grind it. If I have to remove it off the entire outside of the product, that will be a bummer. It fits over the hitch ball unit very well. If I can ultimately get it into the receiver I will be extremely happy.

Only had to grind paint on the lip. Works great now. As it fits tight int the receiver, there is no wobble when the trailer is attached. I had bought a wobble reducer in anticipation but didnt need it. I just leave the adapter in the receiver with the pin through it. Very happy.

by:

Perfect fit, no rattle.

by:

Worked perfectly. Fit my 2 1/2” hitch tube and the hitch fit into it just as it was supposed to. No issues.

by:

Nice people. Missing hardware. Items not delivered when promised. They made good of everything. I would shop there again.

by:

Works just like it was advertised

by:

Great Product!

by:

Arrived quickly. Fit perfectly.

by:

Excellent product fits multiple receivers with ease.

by:

Thank you, great buying from y'all.

by:

Well made!

by:

Fits perfect. Really like the flared end so it does not slide all the way into the receiver.

by:

Can be used on various receivers. Good quality.

by:

I had to file the sharp edges a bit so it would go completely into the receiver without having to use a 2 lb hammer and force it. Maybe the issue was the receiver. I filed 2 edges and it went in but not in the orientation I needed so I had to file the other two.

by:

I needed this when I upgraded to a 2.5 inch hitch receiver. It did the job for a few months until I upgraded my hitch.

by:

Perfect solution for my 2-1/2 receiver on my F-250 for the 2" E2 Equalizer hitch.

by:

My products were shipped at the time etrailer said they would be and they arrived on the exact day projected. I have not got to use my hitches yet, but have inspected them and the quality is there. Highly recommend this company and plan to use them in the future.

  • Recommended Hitch Receiver Reducer for 2-1/2 Hitch
I believe you are talking about the Hollywood Racks Hitch Receiver Reducer # HRHA-2. This is specifically designed to use with a Hollywood Bike Rack like the # HR1400Z. Since you're looking for a 2-1/2" to 2" reducer I'm assuming you want to use this to put your Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-305 into the 2-1/2" hitch on your vehicle. If that is the case, I recommend the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" # BWRHXA2182 instead. This will let you...

  • Recommended 2-1/2" to 2" Hitch Reducer for Ford F-250
Yes, we do offer 2-1/2" to 2" trailer hitch reducers like the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve part # BWRHXA2182 which is what I recommend. That said, they all have some play so if you are trying to get rid of this completely a dedicated 2-1/2" shank would be the best option. If you can let me know the application I may be able to assist with this.

  • Availability Of 2-1/2" Shank For Curt MV Weight Distribution System C17063
I do have a solution for you, but the Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control - Round Bar - 14K GTW, 1.4K TW # C17063 you were looking at cannot be ordered with a 2-1/2" shank. Instead you will want to purchase the 2-1/2" shank # C17131 which will work perfectly with the # C17063 and fit directly into the 2-1/2" trailer hitch receiver on your 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty. The other option would be to use a 2-1/2" to 2" hitch reducer # BWRHXA2182 which would allow you...

  • Locking Hitch Pin for 2-1/2 Hitch Reducer
Yes! We have some options like the etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" and 2-1/2" Hitches # e98881. You can use it with your other etrailer lock and have it keyed alike if you have a reducer that extends out with two hitchpin holes on each end like # HR26. Note that this adapter that also extends will reduce your capacity by a third. If you want another anti-rattle lock though, there is the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2-1/2" Hitches # SHP2040-XL which has a nut and spring...

  • Recommended B&W 3-Ball Mount for Lifted 2019 Ford F-250
For your lifted 2019 Ford F-250, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount - 2.5" Hitch - 7" Drop/7.5" Rise - 18K - Black # BWTS20049B. It is the best option for your 2-1/2 inch receiver that will give you a drop that will work well for your trailer. If your trailer coupler is 18-1/2 inches from the ground, this will be the best option. If your coupler is a lower height then I recommend using the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 9" Drop, 9-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10050B...

When using a 2-1/2" to 2" Reducer Sleeve # BWRHXA2182 you will be able to use the 2" Rock Tamers # ERT00108. You will need to ensure you do have the required 1" for the mount to fit on the 2" shank. If you have the 2-1/2" Rock Tamers # ERT00110 you will need to either swap out for the 2" Hub # ERT034 or use a Reducer/Extender # HR26 so you have space to mount the larger Rock Tamers hub.

  • How to Use a Bike Rack w/ a 2-1/2" Receiver
To adapt your 2-1/2" receiver to accept your 2" bike rack you will want to use the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve item # BWRHXA2182. This reducer sleeve slides directly into your 2-1/2" receiver and does not extend past it by more than 1/4" of an inch. I have linked a review video below. The main issue is going to be the locking pin. If your bike rack fits a standard hitch pin which is 5/8" you will ok using the one currently on your 2-1/2" receiver. If it does not you will want...

  • Using 2" Attachments with a New 2-1/2" Receiver
It sounds like you have some older 2" accessories that you need to work with your new 2-1/2" receiver. We have you covered. One option you have is to simply use a reducer sleeve like the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve, part # BWRHXA2182. This will slide into your 2-1/2" receiver and allow you to use your 2" attachments. I've linked to a video demonstration of this. Another option is to replace some of the smaller parts so you don't need a sleeve. For your weight distribution system's...

  • Availability of Combination Pintle Hook Hitch for 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver
It sounds as if you're needing a Combination Pintle Hitch for a 2-1/2 inch receiver, is that correct? You can use the # 337RM62516 you'd looked at along with a reducer sleeve like part # BWRHXA2182, which would certainly be your most cost-effective option. If you'd prefer an option that's dedicated for a 2-1/2 inch receiver, I'd recommend the height adjustable # C45908 from Curt. • Can Hitch Reducer Be Used for 2 Inch Weight Distribution Shank in 2-1/2 Inch Hitch
You certainly can! I'd recommend a reducer sleeve like part # BWRHXA2182 which is designed for this purpose. This reducer has pinched ends to prevent it from sliding into the 2-1/2 inch receiver too far, so it'll be easy to line up the hitch pin holes. A reducer sleeve might allow slight movement of the shank, but the spring bars will put enough leverage on the weight distributing shank that this shouldn't be an issue. The hitch reducer sleeve I strongly recommend for the 2-1/2" hitch on your 2019 Ford F-250 is the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # BWRHXA2182 because it has two sets of pin holes to allow for a more custom fit on your Ford hitch. If your F-250 has a Ford factory hitch or Draw-Tite hitch, insert the reducer sleeve so the pinched ends face the sides; if you have a Curt aftermarket hitch, insert the sleeve so that the ends are positioned on the top and bottom of your receiver.
