Master Lock Trailer Hitch Lock - 1469DAT

  • Fits 2-1/2 Inch Hitch
  • Standard Pin Lock
  • Keyed Unique
  • Master Lock
  • 3-1/4 Inch Span
  • Stainless Steel
  • Flush Pin

Secure your ball mount to your hitch with this rugged, innovative trailer hitch receiver lock. The lock's solid construction stands up to whatever the road and weather can dish out, and its swivel design makes locking and unlocking a snap.

Features:

  • Trailer hitch receiver lock is used in place of standard pin and clip to prevent theft of ball mount or accessories such as cargo carriers and bike racks
  • Oversize lock fits late-model trucks with wider, 2-1/2" receivers
    • Fits 2007-2010 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra with HD tow package
    • This lock is slightly too short for the 2011 and newer GMC factory 2-1/2" hitches (see e98881 if you have this vehicle)
  • Patented, stainless steel swivel head rotates 360 degrees for easy access
    • Brass keyway with aluminum casing conveniently faces toward you, not off to the side
  • Key-retaining design prevents "false locks" - key can't be removed unless lock is secure
  • Push-to-lock mechanism makes locking easy and foolproof
    • Lock clicks into place - you can feel and hear that it is locked
  • Chrome-plated steel resists corrosion
  • Weather-resistant, snap-on cover keeps dirt and moisture out of keyway
  • Rugged construction complies with ASTM testing standards for exposure to salt and UV rays
  • Includes 2 keys

Specs:

  • Application: 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" trailer hitch receivers
    • Will not fit Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch and Reese Titan hitches with 18,000-lb GTW rating
    • Works with OEM hitches on late-model trucks, including:
      • Ford F-250 and F-350 with 2-1/2" square receivers
      • Toyota Tundra with HD tow package
      • Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra with HD tow package
  • Pin diameter: 5/8"
  • Inside pin length (span): 3-1/4"
  • Capacity for Class III or IV hitches: 10,000 lbs
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Note: Lock will not fit Draw-Tite and Reese brand Titan hitches with an 18,000-lb towing capacity. The washers that are used to reinforce the pin hole on these receivers make the width too long for the lock.

This item has held up very well. It’s all my truck probably 300 days out of the year and all sorts of weather. The only thing that happened is the dust cover retainer has broken, but I still have cap and use it. It’s never been a problem to unlock or lock and it has never been an issue while using it to hold my hitch. The red colour has also faded somewhat from the sun over the air but it’s not horrible. I would definitely recommend this product and would absolutely buy another one.

by:

Installed on 2012 Ford F-250 with the OEM 2.5" hitch. Nice fit, also really like the stainless steel construction since most of my towing is done in the winter towing a trailer full of snowmobiles on typical midwestern heavily salted roads. Nice rubber boot around lock with weather cap prevents salt/water intrusion and abrasion on hitch surfaces. Good looking anodized red handle/stop on other end. As mentioned earlier, weather seal o-ring on stem is slightly oversized and tends to push out rather than engaging hole in lock but a little lube on the o-ring before installation mitigated that issue. Service from etrailer is top notch - bar none.

by:

I have been using this with my Blue Ox hitch to pull my 11,000 GVW travel trailer for a year now and it works great and still looks close to new. No issues at all.

by:

Great product, very pleased with it.

by:

So far I have bought a hitch , hook, lock and on its way is also the wiring harness for my Tacoma. etrailer.com gets the parts to me quicker than expected. So far everything has fit perfectly. No need to look any farther than etrailer for your trailer needs.

by:

Works well, but, the lock side is a bit difficult. Need to shake it a bit while turning the key and holding the pin at the same time.

by:

Everything went nice and smooth outside shipping was fast as well

by:

Good quality lock that works very good.

by:

The item metal bar was scratched up a lot but it was functional. I'm not sure if that is how they are made at the factory. It had a good fit on my Tahoe with a 2" hitch. I'll see how happy I am with it after a year of usage.

by:

Shipped very quickly! I was informed on the tracking and the day and time delivery was made. Excellent customer service. The hitch looks and fits great, seems well built. Love it!

by:

Got tired of switching balls so ordered the B&W Tow and Stow. etrailer came through again. Exceptionally fast shipping and delivery and product was well packaged. Will be installing shortly. Also got the locking Master Lock hitch pin to keep the Tow and Stow on my truck instead of someone else's!!

Havent lost my hitch yet so I guess the product works well! Thanks

by:

Like that the key is pointing toward the rear of the vehicle, much easier to use.

by:

Durable locks that work well and unlock easy when needed.

Still performing as expected. Quality product.

by:

Great company to order from , the item came as described online . I have used this exact item in the past with great success

by:

Nice stainless lock that should hold up to the weather.

by:

Finally found a lock that fits my '08 Silverado HD, 2-1/2" receiver. Nice lock, very sturdy and fits great! Stainless won't rust like other locks out there.

Unfortunately, the hard winter killed my lock. The protective cap fell off and the key slot got so packed full of road salt that the key wouldnt go in. I finally had to cut the lock off. Lesson learned: make sure you keep the plastic cap on!

John

My lock suffered the same fate but my protective cap stayed on. The key would go in but not turn to unlock. Tried spraying penetrating oil in lock for days and a little heat did not help. Had to drill out lock. The Chicago winters and all the salt destroyed the aluminum lock.

by:

Got a 2500 and needed a longer lock. This works great. Easy to unlock.

by:

Purchased this hitch lock specifically because we were having trouble inserting our safety chains on receiver due to the length of our prior hitch lock. This lock gives us an added 0.5 inch, just what we needed. In addition I like the locking mechanism which has a rotation cam type lock vs the open cylinder with recessed ball bearings. I also appreciate this is stainless steel. I expect this lock to perform we for many years to come.

by:

This lock is much easier to install than others, because the key slot faces you as you lock or unlock, as opposed to the key slot being in line with the pin making it difficult to see the key hole. I did note that the packaging states that the pin is rated at 10,000 lbs (towing load). For a locking pin long enough to fit Class V receivers (2 1/2" square), this is not an adequate rating. My system needs a rating of at least 14,000 lbs, so this pin is technically not sufficient. I am not going to worry about it, since the rating is not stamped on the pin and I know that the 5/8" pin will definitely be strong enough for my use. I do think that the issue should be addressed in the website description, however.

by:

great product the ball hitch is the best one i have ever owned.
Construction business, I own three diesel trucks and five trailers either 2" or 2&5/16.
this is the easiest fastest to change of all the balls i've owned.
Wish i would have bought one for each vehicle.

by:

I bought this lock, a draw tight hitch, a Curt wiring harness and a GMC LED light cover. The main reason I bought it was the information video about the hitch. It was a simple step by step video. Bought it for a very fair price and it installed just like they said. Arrived on time and was packed great. This is my site for future purchases. Rubber floor covering next on my list. Thanks for a great site to buy from.

by:

After one year of being on my truck (in the state of Maine taking winter and road salt abuse) I havent had any issues. The only thing I do suggest is every couple months oil the lock. Other than that no issues, great quality. I use it to keep my 20 ton pintle on the truck so its seen a fair amount of weight.

by:

Solid construction.

by:

Despite what the product description says, this receiver lock does NOT work on a GMC 2500 with a 2 1/2" Receiver - the part is not long enough to engage the lock. On a positiove note, etrailer's customer service department has been great in allowing me to ship it back.

On 2011 and newer GMCChevy HD trucks, the lock is a bit too short. Instead, use RH5-XL.

  • Recommended Stainless Steel Hitch Lock for 2-1/2 Receiver
The Master Lock Trailer Hitch Lock # 1469DAT referenced in your question features a stainless steel swivel head (the actual lock core/cylinder at the end) but the pin itself is constructed of chrome-plated steel like you mentioned. For a true stainless steel locking pin that will work great for the 2-1/2" hitch receiver on your Tundra I instead recommend the B&W # C23025. This heavy-duty locking pin features a stainless steel construction throughout and it uses a tube key cylinder (instead...

  • Will Master Lock Hitch Lock # 1469DAT Fit Factory Trailer Hitch on 2008 Toyota Sequoia
The Master Lock locking hitch pin # 1469DAT is likely going to fit your 2008 Toyota Sequoia with factory installed trailer hitch. This lock is designed for 2-1/2 inch hitches so it is very long, the inside span that actually goes through the receiver is 3-1/4 inches long. Measure the width of your receiver on the outside (from pin to pin hole) and if less than 3-1/4 inches long it will fit. You likely have a 2 inch trailer hitch.
