Anti-Rattle Device for a 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch on a 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500
Question:
I have a 2009 Chevy 2500 with a 2 1\2inch in receiver. I must use the Genuine OEM factory 2inch adapter for everything that I have. Will the 062 fit on this? Will this work for trailer pulling, as everything that I have found only talks about accessories?

Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster Quiet Hitch, # RM-062, does fit 2-1/2 inch receivers like the one on your 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 but it is made for flat towing only (towing a vehicle behind a motor home) and is not rated for towing. Towing a trailer produces more tongue weight than flat towing a vehicle and this device is not rated for the additional stress.
Other customers have used the Blue Ox Hitch Immobilizer, # BX88225, which stops rattle horizontally and vertically. Or you could get a lock and anti-rattle device in one using the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # SHP2040-XL. I have linked a video review of it for you.
