The Lock-Tite anti-rattle pin from Pro Series takes the rattle and play out of the connection between your trailer hitch and your ball mount or hitch accessory. The unique design features a sturdy steel block that sits inside the shank of your hitch-mounted accessory.
Place the block inside your ball mount or hitch accessory using the included insertion tool, and line up the hole in the block with the pin hole in your ball mount. Slide your ball mount into your hitch and insert the hitch pin. To activate the anti-rattle device, just twist the pin with the included wrench to tighten it down. Doing this will pull the accessory up against the wall of your hitch receiver, thus keeping the accessory from moving around inside your hitch. No more annoying clanking or vibrating.
The barrel-style lock goes on the end of the anti-rattle pin to provide security for your hitch-mounted accessories. Two keys are included with the lock. A sturdy rubber dust cap comes attached to the barrel lock so that you can easily cover the lock cylinder, thus ensuring that no dirt or grime will get in to damage the lock.

I love the product, unfortunately the threads do not last. This is my second one in just over 2 years and will need a replacement before this biking season is over. Threads are easily damaged by overtightening, but if you don't get it tight enough the bike rack wobbles.

The unit itself seems like it should work well. I've installed it, but haven't loaded up the cargo carrier. As some of the other reviews indicated, the o-ring (to keep water out of the lock from the pin shaft) was broken upon receipt of the product. I was able to find and install a new o-ring on the pin, however the clearance between the tightener nut and the shaft of the pin is so tight that it catches the o-ring and won't allow the nut to pass. I got the smallest o-ring I thought I could get over the shaft and it fit nicely into the slot for the o-ring on the shaft. When trying to remove the tightening nut, it ripped the o-ring, which I suspect is what happens to the OEM o-ring.
My solution is now to just put some grease at the end of the shaft to minimize moisture in the lock mechanism. Messy but the only viable option, since the basic functional design seems solid. Just a poor "detail" design that doesn't affect the basic functionality.

Examined but not yet used. I have some serious concerns about the quality of this unit. Upon taking it out of the package, the shaft-sealing O-Ring fell out, broken - it is made with a very poor quality "rubber" - the lock-cylinder cap-seal appears to be of similar poor quality. Although the installation diagram is technically correct, I am sure that it confuses many people and causes them to insert the parts exactly backwards of what will work - the hex-hole plate MUST be on the opposite side of where you insert the locking-pin.

As stated previously, the plasticrubber parts are garbage - but the unit itself works. It has not seen duty which would get it wet-mud contaminated and perhaps jam up - but it clean/dry conditions it still works.
This is great for longer hitch extensions, but it s was too much for use with a receiver-cover badge (NFL logo).
Works good, must have a hollow tube to use it, a little more trouble to hook up since you have to screw on the nut then tighten it with the wrench, by the way you have to have the wrench to unhook, I lost my wrench so I have to carry another wrench with the hitch.all in all it does keep it from rattling and moving back and forth. Just wish I could use it on my hitch ball.
This hitch lock pin is an excellent product. It couldn’t be easier to use and took less than 5 minutes to install. I had an earlier model of this lock several years ago that wasn’t as easy to use and didn’t keep the hitch from rattling. This new one works great.
The Pro Series Lock-Tite Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches worked great and the service by Etrailer is outstanding. Etrailer people are amazing!

Great! We still love the extra room it provides and it is easy to use.
lock worked as needed and price was good. eliminated shake between receiver and insert.
It's not the simplest to set up, but its also not overly difficult. You get what you pay for with this. It helped my rattle a lot.

Didn’t last. I left it on for the whole year, had a bunch of snow last winter, and when I went to take it off back in may I had to take a 4 pound hammer and smash it off. Broke the plastic part and ruined the pin. The lock was great though, no problems there.Had to put it in the scrap pile. If you live in a area with no snow and salt maybe it lasts, but not in Maryland.

The lock hitch provides two benefits: it secures your tow bar from theft and it eliminates rattle movement at the connection point. This unit does not these functions well. The only weak link is the plastic that aligns the pin for locking. That failed early on and I had to improvise going forward with double sided 3M tape.
It works great, once I figured out how to use it.
Great lock. Good price. Easy to use.
