Why Does XL Anti Rattle Hitch Lock Stop Using Tube Key
Question:
I have this exact same XL model and wanting to order another one. My question is why did this model change to a key verses that rounded type key for better safety protection against someone being able to pick the lock? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
The older tube key style for the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # SHP2040-XL was replaced with the flat key style which in general lasts a bit longer in this type of outdoor application. Tube keys tend to have issues with corrosion over time that prevents them from working.
