Recommendations to Correct Ball Mount Rattle in Hitch Receiver
Question:
Hi - I have a 2008 Chevy 2500 diesel and it has a 2 1/2inch receiver and sleeve that slides in to downsize it to 2inch to fit my 2inch stinger. For years I have pulled a smaller travel trailer and had no problems but now I have a larger/heavier trailer and the stinger seems to rock and roll more and makes LOTS of noise flopping around in the receiver. Will one of those receiver tighteners work to keep everything snug or do you have a better suggestion? Thanks

I recommend taking a look at the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, # SHP2040-XL. This is designed for use with a hollow shank ball mount and will help to reduce the "rock and roll" that you are experiencing. I have included a short video for you.
