The Duel cable with a black and white wires on the FJ Cruiser it takes about 14 ft to run through the frame on the driver side. I used a tape measure to fish the wire through the frame. The Prodigy P3 was easy to install and works very well

Great

by:

Does exactly what it is supposed to do...protect the wiring under overload. So far, no issues after one year of being in the harsh conditions under my Jeep's hood.

by:

Circuit breaker seems to be working as intended. Ni issues so far at 1 year+

by:

Excellent quality and strength. Why skimp on something as important as your hitch? I have purchased three of these Draw Tites - I guess a repeat customer will scream about the true quality a company can garner from repeat customers. When you pull show cars worth six figures, you can't afford a poorly made hitch.
Step up, step out, and don't fret what you are pulling.

by:

It's a circuit breaker!

We got
this wire our small teardrop for underway charging. I put it inline after the relay/solenoid, wired so we wouldn't exceed reasonable current flow in 10ga. wiring. I don't think it's ever tripped, except when I loaded it for testing.

Would use again.

I had a couple of corroded breakers on my 12 year old travel trailer that caused a lack of 12v power from the house battery to the 12v system components. The replacements solved the problem. I have purchased from etrailer before and I've always been completely satisfied with the products.

by:

The equipment arrived complete and in good shape. However the most impressive thing about this, and earlier orders with etrailer was the customer service. When they saw one of the items was delayed they reached out to offer an alternative. They also kept me well informed of progress and when it was shipped/delivered. The videos on their products including installation are also very detailed and helpful. Great place to do business with.

by:

Perfect connector for what I was looking for on my 2019 RAV4. I originally installed it with the L bracket, but later changed it to be flush in the bumper. Looks very clean. The prefab pigtail made install into the car very easy as well.

by:

Good fast transaction. Item was as adve rtised.

by:

Works perfect on my travel trailer, in between my converter and my auxiliary battery. So cheap, that I bought 2 so as to have a spare...why not? Processing and shipping was super fast, I ordered on Wednesday afternoon and had it Saturday. It was awesome to see the video provided by eTrailer, as it helped convince me that this was the exact part I needed. I'll be shopping here again!

by:

This product. Is. A great one its going to be used to conect my brake controller to. My 99 Chevy Tahoe I. Got. Both the 20 amp and the. 30 amp . Hopfuly I. Won't need. the 40amp . thanks so much for a. Wonderful produce

by:

Cheaply made. Product gets a 3 star. Shipping gets a zero star. Your warehouse picked a product that had the all important bracket broken off. It was not in the box so the extreme volume and lack of packers delayed my installation. Thank you for shipping correct item 2 weeks late. This is becoming a regular policy.

by:

I install them in line and one more time the tutorial video was the best tool in my tool box. even wen I got a HVAC back ground the video was my best tool. Thank you.

by:

I should have ordered the in-line breaker without mounting bracket......discovered it, but you were so fast the parts had been shipped..... I removed the bracket and installed it my Jeepster. It does the job.

by:

Exactly what I needed to add a brake controller to my RV. Thanks for the support.

by:

They had to send this to me extra because it was missing from the ETBC7L kit that I purchased. It was inconvenient that it was missing but customer service and getting the replacement was easy and expedient.

by:

Fast shipping and arrived on time. Breaker has plastic case not metal but should not affect its function. Bolted on in place of original and should work as original. Pleased with purchase.

by:

I ordered this controller and additional parts from Laser. Before committing to buying, I asked him many questions. He answered them all in about a clear and concise way as possible while presenting a picture of how to install the device. It arrived today and I haven't started, but he also emphasized that I could call if I ran into any difficulties. I'll follow up when the job is complete. My experience in this context could not have been better.

Everything was as advertised, and thank you Kaylyn R for your wonderful customer service. It took awhile to get everything installed, because of crazy events in the past year, but it all works great!

by:

I am very pleased with your products. The installation went very well and your video sure made it look easy. I have already told my friends about your products.

by:

very fast delivery, sales person was very helpful, easy installation, will do biss again, thank you e trailer.

by:

The right part, manufacturer, shipped and received as promised. etrailer reliable as usual. Thank you!

by:

great product used on 3 vehicles for brake control

by:

Etrailer is the bomb, great customer service and everything arrived on time, with no issues!

by:

Worked perfect just had to shorten studs so hood spring would clear them when closed.

You might consider relocating the breaker. If its close enough to the hood spring that you had to shorten the studs, theres a chance that on rough pavement the spring could still contact the studs, which could short out the circuit.

  • Install Electric Brake Controller in Freightliner FL112 for Gooseneck Farm Trailers
If the trailers you intend to tow have electric brakes then the Redarc # RED44FR brake controller should work for you. Since it has an accelerometer you will have the benefit of smooth proportional braking. Just mount this equiment in your cab per the instructions. You will need a few more parts to convert your Semi-Tractory wiring to the "RV Style" wiring depending on your current set up. I would put a Pollak # 38630 in-line 30 amp breaker in the line to the battery. I have attached...

  • Adding Charge Line To a 2021 Kia Telluride With Factory 7-Way
Yes, you can run a Wire # 10-1-1 from your battery on your 2021 Kia Telluride directly to the auxiliary/charge line on your factory 7-way. I do recommend using a 30 amp. In-Line Circuit Breaker # 38630 to prevent power from overloading the wiring. Since it is a factory installed 7-way you may want to check the fuses on your Telluride to ensure they are good and were not left out from the factory. Your owners manual indicates that there are three 30 amp fuses listed directly for the trailer...

  • Troubleshooting Power to Brake Controller from #2 Stud on 2011 Chevrolet Silverado
Since you know the brake controller works when connected to stud #1 it should not be a brake controller problem. From what I have found, stud #1 is dedicated 12V power and a 40 amp fuse, you do not want to keep the brake controller attached to this. Troubleshooting this issue directly would require working with the fuse box wiring, which is not something I would recommend. Instead, I recommend running new wire to the battery from your brake controller. Take the wire from your brake controller...

Yes, the Tekonsha PRIMUS IQ Electronic Brake Controller, part # TK90160, will work on your 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser to activate the electric brakes on your trailer. Brake controllers are not vehicle specific and can be wired into any vehicle. If you have a 4 to 7-Way adapter such as part # 30717, with extra wires to be connected and not an adapter, you will just need to connect the remaining wires, including the Blue wire. We do have a brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7 that...

  • Protecting Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller
Usually with lower quality brake controllers something like a 20-AMP # 9506P or 30-AMP Circuit Breaker # 38630 would work (20-AMP for 2/4 brake and 30-AMP for 6/8 brake applications). Most wiring harnesses come with inline fuses integrated with them but if not, you can use the circuit breakers above. The 20 or 30 AMP circuit breakers can handle the max current generated by the controller. You are correct, a 50 PIV Diode would also be a way to protect, but the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 is a...

If the brake controller is connected to the 2003 Chevy Silverado tow package port (to the left of the brake pedal, second port from the left, top row) using Tekonsha Wire Replacement, # 3015-P, or a similar harness, and the truck came with a factory 7-Way, then the connection is already fused/circuit protected, so the brake controller will not need another circuit breaker. It is possible that a 7-Way was added later and the wiring and circuit breaker you see are related. But, the 2003...

  • How Many Trailer Brakes Should be Used with a 20 Amp Circuit Breaker or 30 Amp Circuit Breaker
The recommendation for 2 to 4 brakes is a 20 amp circuit breaker, # PK54520, and for 6 to 8 brakes a 30 amp circuit breaker, # 38630, just as you have stated. Usually, you would go with the smallest sized circuit breaker for the system being used. This is so if there is a problem, it can be caught right away. If you plan on towing trailers with 2 to 4 brakes and trailers with 6 to 8 brakes, it would be best to go with the 30 amp circuit breaker as the 20 amp circuit breaker would not...

To hardwire a Prodigy P2 brake controller # 90885 in your 2016 Dodge Journey you will need to make the 12V input power connection (for the black wire) at the positive battery post, going through a circuit breaker like 20-amp # PK54520. This value circuit breaker will be fine for trailers having up to 4 brake assemblies but if your trailer has more than 4 braked wheels then instead use a higher-value breaker # 38630 which is rated for 30-amps. You definitely want to hardwire the power wire for the Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 to the battery of your 2006 Jeep Commander. However, since you said the problem is also happening with a 30 amp fuse installed in the fuse location for your cigarette lighter (this is not recommended at all), you probably have a short somewhere on the brake output circuit for the controller.
