Installing Brake Controller on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Question:

I have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, and I have installed a 7 way connector, and even ran Blue 12 gauge wire to front of vehicl ready to wire to controller, and red wire for 12 volt power if needed to charge my battery etc. My question is as follows: 1. Is there an under dash quick wiring harness for hooking up the brake controller, similar to the factory harness for Dodge Etc., or are instructions avaiable for simple wiring to brake switch and controller?

The Chrysler Pacifica was not equipped with the brake controller connector under the dash.

It sounds as if you already have quite a bit of work done already. However, I do have one note on what you have already completed. On your 12-volt power supply wire that you have ran from the battery to the trailer connector, I would suggest installing a 40-amp inline circuit breaker like part # 9510. The breaker is typically mounted to the inside of a fender or other convenient mounting location close to the battery.

I will provide links to our brake controller installation articles that will help walk you through the process, but I can provide you a brief overview. The red controller wire connects to the brake switch, which is located at the top of the brake pedal. The switch itself can have several wires exiting it, to find the correct circuit to tap that red wire into, use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. Probe each wire until you find the circuit that only goes hot when the brake pedal is pressed. Once located, tap the red controller wire into that circuit. The black controller wire attaches to the positive battery terminal, via a 20- or 30-amp circuit breaker. If your trailer has up to 4 brake assemblies, the 20-amp, part # 9506P will work just fine. For 6 brake assemblies, use the 30-amp breaker, part # 38630. The white controller wire attaches to the negative battery terminal and the blue wire attaches to the blue wire you ran from the trailer connector.
