Adding Charge Line To a 2021 Kia Telluride With Factory 7-Way
Question:
I have a factory installed 7 pin connector on my Kia Telluride 2021. I successfully installed one of your brake controlers. However, none of the pins have 12 volts which I need to charge my trailer batteries. Can I add a wire to that connector from my battery or is it possible that that particular connector doesnt have an available pin?

Expert Reply:
Yes, you can run a Wire # 10-1-1 from your battery on your 2021 Kia Telluride directly to the auxiliary/charge line on your factory 7-way. I do recommend using a 30 amp. In-Line Circuit Breaker # 38630 to prevent power from overloading the wiring.
Since it is a factory installed 7-way you may want to check the fuses on your Telluride to ensure they are good and were not left out from the factory. Your owners manual indicates that there are three 30 amp fuses listed directly for the trailer connector but it does not specify which one is for the charge line.
