Today we're going to be taking a look at the Universal Hand Winch Right Angle Mounting Bracket, for hand winches by Dutton Lainson. The Universal Right Angle Mounting Bracket is going to fit most hand winches up to a two thousand pound capacity. Got the nice big warning label right here, that's going to give us the capacities listed right on the steel construction. This is a heavy duty quarter inch, one piece steel, and it's going to feature a nice powder coated bronze finish to resist rusting, corrosion, and to last a long time. Product's made in the U.S.A. We're going to take a minute just to go over the measurements. It's going to give us an over all width of 5 7/16 of an inch. Now both sides are going to measure from the center of the curve to the edge here.
They're going to be identical, so if we take that measurement, we're going to be looking right at 5 inches. You can see here that we have the same hole pattern on each side. The diameter and the measurements of the holes are going to be identical, so I'm just going to do it on one side here. If you take a measurement of the diameter of the smaller hole, it's going to give us an opening size of about 3/8 of an inch. The elongated holes, measuring the length first, it's going to measure 3/4 of an inch by 3/8 of an inch. The smaller holes, measuring across, are going to be separated on center, by 3 1/4 of an inch.
The elongated holes, center on center, will be right on 3 inches. Going this direction, the smaller holes are going to be separated on center, by 2 1/8 of an inch, front to back. You can also here that the elongated holes, here at the edge, are going be, the opening, so the edge of the elongated hole is going to be in line with the center of the small holes. And again that's going to be identical on either side of the mounting bracket. Very solid sturdy bracket! 1/4 inch thick solid steel with conveniently pre-drilled holes. I'm actually using it for a small electric winch on my tractor, so I had to drill a few other holes, and this bracket is very tough steel. This is probably not for use with industrial applications, but it definitely is tough enough for around the house.
etrailer seems to always have quality parts when I can't find what I'm looking for elsewhere.

the bracket was exactly as advertised. very heavy duty and well made. i plan to mount this on my saw mill and hook up a winch for loading logs. the system the saw mill people sells for $450. and i can do the same with this bracket for a lot less.
