Today we're going to show you the hand winch strap from Dutton-Lainson part number DL24239. It's two inches wide, by fifteen foot long all the way around. It has a breaking strength of 4,000 pounds, and a low capacity of 2,600 pounds. It also comes with hardware. You have two bolts, and this nut. Depending on the winch you're going to use this on, it gives you two choices.
You only use one of the two bolts. It's pretty handy to come with it when you need to change out your strap. Sometimes it's an old bolt and you'd just like to cut it off and start new. It's nice to have some fresh hardware. Pretty simple, it also has a hook on the end, a little safety catch.
It has a galvanized finish. Let's go ahead and show you how to install this in our winch. First off, it's a good idea to test your hardware to make sure you can use the shortest of the two bolts. Typically there's a hole in your winch, and you run the bolt through. See which one you need. Sometimes, you may have to shorten your bolt a little bit to have clearance.
We're going to go ahead and shorten our bolt, probably about a quarter inch still. You can easily do this with a hack saw and a device to hold you bolt. You can go ahead, get inside the threads and cut it in half. We'll be using a cutting wheel. After you have your bolt cut, do another test of it.
If it's just a little bit more to take off, it might just be easier to put a simple washer on there to take up the space. Okay, let's leave it partly in for now. You want to take our strap and thread it through the loop that's built into the strap. Work it through the strap and put lock nut on the other side. We'll tighten it down using a 9/16th socket and a wrench. It doesn't have to be tight, just snug. All that remains is just go ahead and wind it up. With that, that will finish it for the Dutton-Lainson hand winch strap, part number DL24239 on this old boat trailer.

Dutton-Lainson hand winch strap with a safety hook.Dutten-Lainson Hand Winch Strap: 2" x 15' strap is high quality. The stitching , webbing , safety hook , appear to be able to handle the rated loads for this strap. The bolt information is appropriate for various winches. I will be using it for my crossbow and boat. Keep making quality products, I will buy.
I bought this strap to go with the DL14125 - 600 lb Hand Winch. The strap is very good quality and seems to be constructed well. The only issue I had was that it did not come with the correct sized bolt and nut to work with the DL14125 winch. The winch specs out a 2-3/4" x 1/4" bolt & lock nut to hold the strap in place but the strap came with (2) 3/8" bolts and a non-locking nut. One 2-3/4" and another 3". I had to buy a 3" bolt and cut it down to work because i couldn't find a 2-3/4".
I am very satisfied with the products that I bought from you. These were so I could pull my little 12 ft. boat and put new lights on the trailer. I have no pictures at this time.
Just as advertised. Fast shipping
How grateful I was to be able to order on-line the items I needed. Living out in the country it is indeed the most economic way we farmers can receive the items we need without a tremendous and expensive effort on our part. Thanks etrailer for you prompt and timely response to my request.
Exactly what I ordered came in. They did an outstanding job describing product to a T
Also, follow up is a 5 Star as well!!
I wish more companies where as thoughtful and concerned as you guys are.

looks as advertised. Fair price and fast shipping. Converting a cable winch to a strap - nice to have the bolt included. Hard to find a 15' length strap at a retail outlet.
Bought this to go with the new winch we purchased.
Every thing about it is great. Time will tell how it holds up.
Great strap. The website is misleading though. The pictures are clearly all gray but I received a black strap.
