Replacing the Winches on a Sea-Doo Trailer

Question:

Im rebuilding my seadoo trailer and need a winch/strap/hook qty 2 that will fit in a welded bracket like shown on the picture. I thought the DL16001 might work - showing out of stock until 10/11. Any help would be great!!

When replacing a winch, or winches, on a boat trailer, I always recommend one that ratchets. This way if you every loose grip, you will not need to start all over after the boat or jet ski slides back into the water.

So with that being said, the TowSmart Trailer Winch - Single Speed - Ratcheting - 20' Strap - 1,500 lbs # 348776 will be the option I suggest. This is rated up to 1,500 pounds and will use the standard bolt pattern that most winches follow. However, with the way your current winches are welded on, it is going to cause some difficulties.

It looks like the whole winch is welded onto that beam, so you are most likely going to need to cut off the old winches and either bolt or weld on a new plate to attach new winches. You may be able to use something like the # DL24059 or # DL24110 as replacement brackets, but again, modification will be needed.
