I used this winch as a surface mount alternative to your typical winch on a post for pulling a Sea-Doo onto a hinged dock lift. The product has held up well. Due to the 40:1 gear ratio, I ended up using a battery operated drill to turn the worm gear instead of the hand crank. Works well.
I ended up purchasing two of these Dutton's. I have a smaller Alumucraft Boat so I used these two winches to raise my boat out of the water at my dock. It was by far cheaper than a sling lift kit. Unfortunately I have very shallow water at winter pool and this worked perfect to get the boat up out of the water. Great Service, Great Product, easy to use, what else can I say.
Looks like a good heavy winch.
Want to use it to make a winch jack.
I haven't installed it yet but, it looks like a good product. The gentleman I spoke with also was great.
