Video Transcript for etrailer and Ram 5th Wheel Landing Gear Replacement Crank Handle Review

John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Replacement Hand Crank for the etrailer.com Landing Gear Set. As I said, it's a replacement hand crank here, so you're going to fit it on the end of your landing gear. This is going to be used for if you don't have the electric gear motor here, or maybe you're at the campsite and you've lost power. This still allows you to operate your landing gear and raise and lower it.It's going to feature a nice long handle, which helps give us some more torque. This landing gear is rated for 8,000 pounds, so depending on your trailer it might be a little more difficult to raise and lower the legs.

As you can see, the grips here, they spin freely, which allows for easier operation of the landing gear. It has a nice clear zinc coated finish which helps prevent rust and corrosion. One thing I would like to point out, a common question I've gotten from customers is whether they can use this with other landing gear sets. It kind of depends. There is no standard dimensions for this fitting, and so your best bet is to just get the exact replacement for your landing gear set. That'll complete our look at the Replacement Handle here for the etrailer.com Landing Gear.

Thanks for watching.

by:

awesome products, awesome prices and awesome service

by:

Received in good order, Thank you...

by:

Ordering these was a no brainer for our oversized Toy Hauler, the capacity rating was almost double and the physical dimensions were exact replacements for the worn out originals. It only took about an hour start to finish on the install for me to do by myself. I couldn't be happier that I can now raise and lower the trailer via the switch again!

by:

Perfect replacement for my bent one.

by:

Recieved the product and have installed half of it,got the unit in today looks good ,works well.

by:

Great value! I actually got this to use with a military trailer that was missing the handle to crank the jack up & down. Much cheaper than finding the surplus part.

by:

I purchased this handle along with new landing gear, but it didn't actually work. My camper has a smaller guide tube that this handle won't fit inside. The old handle worked fine, my mistake. The new handle is also longer. It is good quality and nicer than my old one. I am happy with the purchase, and I can use it on something else, but I didn't need to buy it.

by:

Product is as described and is of good quality. I bought it as a (replacement) backup for the electrically operated legs on my fifth wheel.

by:

Great product. Took less than an hour to replace the old landing gear with the etrailer brand. Was a direct replacement with no problems. Shipping was fast.

by:

Works very well for my application (military trailer).

by:

  • Best Replacement Landing Gear Crank Handle for 1988 Carri-Lite 5th Wheel Trailer
We offer several styles of replacement landing gear crank handles that you can see on the page I linked for you. Although we have no way to look up the original landing gear installed on your 1988 Carriage Carri-Lite 5th wheel it is very likely that you have Lippert landing gear. You should be able to use either of these parts, etrailer # RVLG-HDL, Lippert # LC119226 which is the item you referenced in your question, or Stromberg Carlson # LG-119226.

  • What Is The Difference Between The Landing Gear Set RVLG-8000 & RVLG-8HDL?
The only difference between the Replacement Crank Handle for etrailer and Ram 5th Wheel Landing Gear # RVLG-8HDL that you mentioned, and the Landing Gear Set # RVLG-8000 is that # RVLG-8HDL comes with the handle, whereas if you were to go with # RVLG-8000 you'd need to purchase the handle separate with # RVLG-HDL. Both of these systems are rated for the same 8,000lbs capacity limit, and have 36-1/2" of total lift. Additionally, both of these can also be upgraded from manual to electric...

  • Is Replacement Gearbox for Landing Gear with Atwood 75721 Motor Available
I did some checking and it looks like there aren't any replacement gearbox or even motor parts for your Atwood landing gear so if you believe that the issue is related internally you will unfortunately need to get a new landing gear set. The 8K Landing Gear Set # RVLG-8000 should fit directly with what you have as the weld stop locations are the typical 15-1/2" and 171/2" measurements (see attached photo). You can use the manual hand crank # RVLG-HDL or the 12V DC Motor # M1230 with the...

The Landing Gear Set part # RVLG-8000 is rated for 8,000 lbs like what you believe your current landing gear's weight capacity is. It also has a leg height of 32-3/4 inches to 53-1/4 inches giving you a travel of 20-1/4 inches which will work well for your application. This jack can be operated manually using part # RVLG-HDL or with a 12V DC motor using part # LC142178. Although I don't know exactly what landing gear you have on your 2006 Big Horn, I can help you find some replacement landing gear. The part VMC900L-181526 that you referenced looks to be some Venture landing gear from the first digits "VMC900L". If you check the weld stops on your landing gear they should measure 15-1/2" on the inside and 17-1/2" on the outside (see attached picture). If this is the case then you can use the Landing Gear Set # RVLG-8000 which has 20-1/2" of travel and...

  • Replacement Landing Gear Needed for 2006 CL4005 5th Wheel Trailer
I have a recommendation for a completely new landing gear set but if you're wanting to just replace your motor and gearbox then I'd need to know what exact 5th wheel landing gear kit you have installed to see if we have something that is compatible. For a replacement landing gear set I highly recommend the Landing Gear Set # RVLG-8000 because it uses the standard 15-1/2" and 17-1/2" weld-stop locations plus it has an 8,000 lb weight capacity. • Needed Landing Gear Capacity for 5th Wheel Toy Hauler w/ 11,000 GVWR
The # RVLG-8000 would be a great choice. Since the axles will be supporting a good percentage of the weight when the landing gear are being used, a set of landing gear with a 8,000 lb capacity would be perfect. This supports more than half the maximum amount of weight the trailer will ever hold, so you'll have plenty of capacity plus some in reserve. • Is there a Way to Identify 5th Wheel Trailer Landing Gear with No Markings
It is possible that there is a part number somewhere that would help identify the landing gear on your trailer.
