Note: Landing gear is designed to stabilize a portion of your trailer's weight, not to support the full GVWR of your trailer. Do not use landing gear to lift your trailer or RV during tire changes or service work because doing so will exceed the capacity of the landing legs.

This landing gear set is constructed of powder coated steel to ensure that it will resist rust and corrosion and hold up well against the elements. Each jack has a drop leg that allows the gear to reach the ground faster, saving you time and energy that would have been spent manually cranking. The cross shaft ensures that the jacks raise and lower at the same rate, and it telescopes so that it can fit the width of your trailer. A crank handle is included so that you can engage the landing gear manually.

This set includes everything you need for a smooth installation. The brackets are designed to weld onto your trailer, and the jacks then bolt onto those mounting brackets with the included hardware.

I received my new landing gear, and it was what I expected. I have not installed it yet, but after putting a temporary fix on my old unit last year, I'm sure this unit will work. The packaging is not great, I actually thought the gear box that came with was used it was so dirty, but it has no installation marks on it, so I believe it's new. The trucking company used drove off my driveway cracking the edge of the asphalt, so I'm not real excited about that either. Other than those two things, it will work...

Receved order on time and everything went well during reassembly. Thanks for helpjng me get all the right parts

by:

This was just what I needed. The legs work perfectly. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, there were pieces missing from the shipment and I had to purchase the missing items from a local hardware store. Also one gear box was locked up and I had to take it apart to find a piece of a wire tie inside blocking the gears. Once the piece of plastic was removed works like a charm. The fast delivery makes up for the slight inconvenience. The legs are holding my 5th wheel up with pride.

by:

Had some issues with the mounting brackets that were in the trailer. We didn't use the brackets that came with the kit as that would have involved cutting out the old brackets and welding in the brackets that came with the kit. We were able to get the legs installed with minimal effort and the rest of the installation went without any other issues.

by:

Steve at Etrailer.com did a great job walking me through the all the parts I would need to fix my landing gear. The landing gear went in really easily and looks to be very well made.

Received the Kit in about four days (5 Stars for etrailer). The shipping container was severely damaged (2 stars for UPS), but at least it arrived. Did not appear any parts were missing. I ordered this kit because it was less expensive for the complete kit then to replace both landing gear legs separately. I left the 5th wheel attached to the truck and removed the old landing gear, gearbox, and motor prior to the arrival of the new system. Keep all your parts. The new kit arrived and was very easy and straight forward to install. However the tubular steel expansion rod that connects both landing gear legs was too short. I had to use the my old connection rod. Also the spacer used for the inside of the large side of the connection rod was not included with the kit. Had to use the old spacer in the old connecting rod. I used my old landing gear foot plates and pull pins on both landing gear leg extensions. Once installed, the kit worked flawlessly. I placed red marker tape on the landing gear extensions so not to top out the legs when lifting. Again save all your old parts.

by:

Super helpful, absolutely. A pleasure to work with will definitely order the rest of my parts through them and nobody else respond time. Was immediately to help me fix the problem and explain it to me. Couldn't ask for better customer service and a company that cares about what you think of the product that they say which was high quality. Honestly got to say they were pleasure and easy to work with I'm 60. Sometimes you can be a little tough using emails. And they actually took the time to call me and talk to me in person and help me throw it so thanks to their team.

by:

I installed the jacks on my 23 ft. 5th wheel trailer, which was very simple and ran the electric wires direct to my battery compartment. The jacks work fine but are a bit too noisy for my liking. Not sure if all are this noisy but they do the job.

by:

New landing gear for my 2012 Cougar 5th wheel. Delivered on time (box was pretty beat up) all the parts were there and it was a perfect fit! Installed it myself in about 1 1/2 hours
Bonus, it was cheaper than at Amazon.
Highly recommend e
trailer !

by:

This landing gear has worked great. Unfortunately it was a bigger job than we were willing to undertake but luckily found a mobile repair service to install it for us. We have had no problems since then.

by:

I am very impressed with this Landing Gear, it is twice that of the Original equipment, in quality.

by:

Package was very heavy. It was so heavy that ups damaged the box and lost some of the hardware. This should have been sent in at least 2 boxes from the weight of this item.

by:

Great replacement of landing gear that was no longer working correctly on our ole trailer. Was a pretty simple replacement once logistics of supporting trailer and accessing with generator compartment partially in the way. I no longer have the fear of be able to re-hitch if I need to lower for leveling purposes. Thanks etrailer you guys have been great with all my DIY trailer projects.

by:

It took about a week for me to receive the landing gear. I paid extra for express delivery although I actually received a day later than they said I would by regular delivery. The box was torn up and I was missing some parts but made it work by using some of my old parts. Other than that, everything was okay……at least it fit.

by:

Parts arrived promptly and in good condition. Tracking kept us informed about delivery so we could still enjoy camping. Phone assistance was knowledgeable and concise. Will continue to ship etrailer. Thanks!

by:

Everything was great flawless installat ion

by:

I would give five stars if the product came with instructions and packaged better. Box came like it was taped up by 2 year old. Parts loose and hardware loose. Jacks did work fine.

by:

I really can't say a lot about the product quality at this time since I just got it installed. It was (I believe) drop shipped to me from the factory. When I received and installed the land gear assembly it kept binding regardless of if I was raising or lower the landing gear rendering it unusable. I contacted the folks at etrailer and was helped by their technician Wayne H. With his help we were able to discover the problem and that was that the factory sent me two leading landing gear legs instead of a (1) leading leg and one following leg. etrailer sent me a replacement following landing gear leg and I installed it today. Once again the electric landing gears on my 5th wheel worked just like they did when the trailer was new. I will definitely be doing business with etrailer in the future and do recommend them to anyone needing parts for a trailer.

by:

Installation was straightforward and motor and jacks operate very smoothly

by:

Purchased for my 2010 Keystone Montana Mountaineer 285 RLD. The original Jack Leg collapsed. I ordered this set to replace the complete Jack Leg System. I upgraded the capacity for added assurance and they fit perfectly. The system runs a little bit slower than the original but that is caused by the different gear ratio for the increased capacity. A few extra seconds of time is an easy trade off for the increased capacity security. A great product from a great company.

by:

The landing gear worked perfectly as a direct replacement to my existing landing gear. One of the legs of the existing landing gear had failed so I decided to replace the entire unit. Everything worked great. Although it wasn’t very difficult to figure out how things were to be put together, there were no installation instructions. It took about two hours of wrench time plus an hour of unpacking, setup, and clean up to replace the entire unit.

by:

Product is good, but the packaging is terrible. Box was torn up and taped back up with packing tape. Switch was damaged and not usable as is.

by:

Not a hard project for someone younger than me. It seems to work and interchange with the old one. I have yet to try the hand crank. I had to jack trailer up in order to work on it with floor jack and blocks. I'm not sure if the hand crank would pick it up. However, I am happy with the product and will get it a full blown test in June 2020 to see if it holds up. I don't expect any problems.

by:

Had a slight problem with the switch being damaged during shipping but etrailer sent a new one right away. Thanks for the great response!

  • How to Choose 5th Wheel Landing Gear
I can't find any reference to that part number, but there is still a way to choose replacement 5th wheel landing gear. All you will need to do is measure the distance between the mounting brackets, which should have the standard dimensions of 17-1/2 inches. Then just choose the lift and capacity you need; for example if you need 30 inches of lift and a 6,000 lb capacity go with the Lippert Manual Landing Gear Set with Handle # LC333966. I have added a link below to our entire selection...

  • Replacement Landing Gear Set Option for Jayco Eagle 5th Wheel Trailer
I'm not totally sure what the exact issue is but it sounds like something with the gears inside therefore you'd be better off with a full replacement landing gear set for which we have a couple great options. The Lippert Manual Landing Gear Set part # LC333966 is a manual replacement option and the Lippert Electric Landing Gear Set part # LC333964 is a power replacement option. These both come with their own brackets for installation but so long as your existing match up with the standard...

  • How Much Weight Can Landing Gear Hold
It depends on what 5th wheel landing gear you have. For example; the Lippert Landing Gear part # LC333966 is rated for 6,000 lbs. It can be used with a trailer that weighs more than 6,000 lbs because it is only supporting part of that load - the tires, wheels, and axles should be supporting the bulk of the weight. Keep in mind that the pin weight of a 5th wheel trailer is typically 20% of the loaded trailer weight. As long as you are not going over the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)...

  • Is it Possible to Add an Electric Motor to Landing Gear Jacks on a Horse Trailer
Sounds like you are looking for a motor to add to your existing landing gear to make them a powered landing gear set. I would have to know what brand of landing gear you have to know for sure what parts you would need. Lippert, Venture and Stromberg Carlson landing gear are the same like part # LC333966. This is a very popular set that can have a motor added to it. You would need the motor kit # LC142178 and switch kit # LG-145236. You can use the same gearbox that comes with the manual...

The Lippert Manual Landing Gear Set with Handle part # LC333966 is a great choice for your camper. the 6,000 lb. capacity is perfect as it is not lifting the entire 12,200 lbs. but a much smaller portion of that closer to that of your pin weight.

  • Replacement Option For Atwood Landing Gear
The replacement gears you mentioned are not likely to work if you machine the gear hole to fit; I can't say for certain as it's never been tested but it is highly unlikely. Atwood is out of business so there isn't another gear set that will work; the only option I know of is to replace your Atwood landing gear with a new set. Landing gear is mostly universal, so for the right replacement you just need to measure the outside to outside distance of your landing gear brackets to ensure they...

Yes. You can use Stromberg Carlson Manual Landing Gear Set - 34-7/8" Lift - 8,000 lbs Item # LG-183708 in place of the Lippert set that you have now. Or you can use Lippert set # LC333964 for an electric set or # LC333966 for a manual set. Or you could save some money and go with # RVLG-8HDL. It will use the same brackets that your Lippert system has. Given the options available I would go with this set if it were me.
