This cable looks of significantly higher quality than my old cable. The ends are molded and look much more secure. On my old cable the wires were starting to pull out which is why I replaced it. Notice the ends in the photo.

by:

Excellent replacement for original. Especially like the lighted receptacle allowing me to see there is connected power supply.

Doing the job just fine. Appreciate the lighted plugs showing positive connections

by:

Perfect fit, works great for our need! Company assistance greatly helped me understand what we needed

by:

This is a great product even after a ye ar.

by:

It’s ok, just not long enough

Edward

8/24/2023

It is ok. I wish it was about 6 inches or so longer.

by:

My order came in a day early!! William had everting I ordered but I thought a cover came with the hitch but my bad will call and get one!!

by:

Pluses are that the product is exactly as advertised, arrived on time at nearly half the cost of the blue coiled wire i needed to replace. Minuses are length, (it works but it pulls harder on the connectors than it would if it was a foot longer) and the red translucent molded connectors soften while in hot climates. Only time will tell how long they last. (unfortunately the wire isn't long enough to replace connectors with aftermarket ones) If manufacturer would harden the red ends and add a foot to the overall length they'd have the perfect trailer connecter for your toad.

I got the same problem. The coil increases the tension with connector housing which causes the disconnection frequently. The way I solve it, is to make the coil more straight. So I heat it by 260F oven for 10 mins hanging around the oven door make sure the coil inside oven is straight. Then let it cool down. You will get a more straight cable with less tension.

Neat little trick. Can it be done at a lower temperature. I would have to hear about melted wire jackets.

Thanks Patrick for great customer service and the best follow-up weve seen. Following a year of nearly continuous use we have had no negative issues with our coiled wiring pigtail. To my surprise the molded connectors are showing no signs of wear and the marginal length, although stretched tight, has not been an issue. I still believe adding 10-12 inches of lenght to the coil would be an improvement but overall the product has proved to be a wise purchase that we would definitely buy again.

by:

I was a little worried about the 8' foot being too long and dragging between my toad and RV, but the coils keep it up, it would have way too much tension beyond 7'. My RV came with a 7 blade connector so that end was no question and I choose the 6 Pole so I could take power lead across in case I ever had an application for power or charging. I did not hook up the power lead out of the toad connector, but could easily do so at any point in the future without needing a new connector or cable. The Toad end connector does light up and can be seen day or night.

Working fine after a year of use, would not change a thing.

by:

Excellent quality. Used in rain and extreme heat. Have to be very sure that the ends are seated and secured, else a loose fit will pull out while driving.

by:

Purchased but was concerned because the price was great.
The electrical harness was well built and sturdy. Have been using since I received the cable with no problems.
I would purchase a again without question or concern.

Tom L.

Still works great and still lights up. Works as well as more expensive tow connector wiring harnesses.

by:

Just what we were looking for, yet a way better price than retail. Half even with delivery, We're first time flat towers, looking to do things right the first time and save money if it turns out to not be the answer we're looking for. After searching online, we called for help/confirmation and the help she was. She called the manufacture to check a shorter lengtth, to no avail. Endedup it was perfect. Thank you.

Great, I have tried to stretch it out, the constant retracting pull off the coiled construction seems to almost pull it out. I have grown more confident with its nature and secure it with a back up cable, to relieve some of the tension. The lighted ends also add confidence to the connection. Even my wife comments on its functionality. Too bad its wound so tight.

by:

I bought this cord for a back up!

by:

Everything worked great except the I had to make adjustment to the 7 pin end in order to make a solid connection. The lid flap on the factory installed end would not hold the 7 pin end of the cord tight enough.

Great after the alteration I had to make

by:

Yes I use it from my motorhome to the jeep I tow and to the trailers.

Replacement for missing Toad to RV electric cable. Looks like a great replacement.

Cable works fine. Needed to replace plug on rear of camper for lights to work properly. Thanks etrailer.

by:

Purchased the flat tow bar, connector and wiring harness for towing my CRV behind my RV. . The phone support was great, information was accurate. All parts were received timely. The etrailer YouTube videos were excellent f.or step by step instructions. I saved a bundle doing the installation myself.

by:

I bought this to replace my original dinghy connector cord. Very nicely made. Works fine but it needs to be just a few inches longer. On one occasion, after making a sharp turn, the tension on the cord pulled just enough on the coach end of the connection to slightly dislodge the plug and disconnect the circuits. Fortunately, I noticed there was no green pilot light on the control head of my dinghy brake system. Checked the plug connections and found the pug at the coach end slightly ajar. Pushed the plug back into place and all was fine. If the cord was 6" longer it would be perfect.

by:

Have used this for a full year and it has performed flawlessly from day one and many cycles on our toad! The lighted nite glow end confirms proper plug in continuity. My previous one had a black rubber sheathing on the coiled cord that flaked off in large chunks. This new one shows no signs of cracking! Will buy again if ever needed.
etrailer.com has some of the best prices online and repeatedly outdo any of RV big box stores and RV dealer stores. Online ordering is fast easy and sometimes free or low cost shipping.

by:

Works very well!

by:

Excellent service from etrailer. The Flex-Coil Adapter is said to stretch to 8' but it is such a tight stretch that one end pulled out of the motorhome recepticle the first time I tried it. I probably didn't have it fully seated in the recepticle and that the tightness of the coil will ease with use. It appears to be a well-made product.

Bob M.

5/2/2014

After a year, it still does the job but it never did stretch out as I had hoped and would sometimes pull out of the receptacles. I solved this by wrapping a hook

by:

Great product, use this on my diesel pusher towing a buick enclave - plenty long enough and really appreciate the light to make sure all is hooked up before checking the lights on the car. etrailer has never disappointed.

by:

I just finished hooking up the trailer cable to our tow vehicle (2005 Chevy Colorado). The product seems very sturdy and fit into the receptacles nicely. The electric transferred smoothly from one end to the other. The lighted ends will be quite handy when attaching the tow vehicle in the dark. Recommended.

by:

Although back ordered, came early and JUST IN TIME (within hours of pulling out) for our Christmas RV trip! Worked perfectly. Did not disconnect during tow like last cable. Very visible in rear camera view so I could keep an eye on it during travels.

by:

I have nothing but good things to say about the Flex-Coil Connector I purchased from etrailer. I purchased it at a great price and I've been utilizing on my tow vehicle behind my motorhome for a year.

by:

This product could be a little longer or another model that ia avalibale that is about 12" longer for extended hitches

  • How To Use 7 Way RV Connector To Power Lights And Charge Battery On Towed Vehicle
I highly recommend installing Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow Adapter # HM48470. This replaces your RV's 7 way and gives you a 7 way AND 4 way flat connection.
