2013 Mini Countryman Tow Bar and Supplemental Braking

Question:

Im looking at a 2013, FWD Countryman that already has a BlueOx base plate installed and the electric hook up. My RV has a 6-pin electric supply. Im looking to buy a tow bar, cables, etc., and am curious if the car brake/directional lights were wired because there is an electric connector in the lower grill by the base plate. Also, would your electric hook ups all have the 6-pin car to rv set up? Finally, what braking system is recommended for the 4 door Countryman. Thanks!

Looks like your 2013 Mini Countryman already has a base plate kit like you mentioned as well as a diode lighting kit installed as well. So for a tow bar the Blue Ox Avail part # BX7420 would be a really great option that's easy to use and comes with safety cables.

Then for a 7-way to 6-way adapter you'd just need the part # HM47053.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
