How are the 7- and 6-Way Trailer Connectors Wired in Hopkins Flex-Coil Trailer Connector Adapter

Question:

I have my seven pin plug on the motorhome set up with no center wire. The auxiliary brake is on pin 2 as you describe for a seven way vehicle connector. How is this Hopkins seven to six pin connector set up?

Expert Reply:

The 7-Way end is a standard blade style 7-Way like in the picture I have included. On the 6-Way end, the center pin is set up for electric brakes. I have included a picture of how it is configured as well.

Mike Asking if my current towed vehicle (Jeep Gladiator) using an Air Force One pneumatic braking system is compatible Hopkins 7 to 6 cable? Currently using a “Blue” Demco 7 to 6 cable. My RV is a 2019 Newmar Mountain Aire -OR- Should I replace 7 to 6 cable with Demco one like I have now?

@RalphJ The Hopkins # HM47053 umbilical would work just fine for you!
