6-Way Extension Harness To Connect Vehicles For Flat Towing

Question:

Great, like the HM47055. Wonder if they make a shorter black 7 pin? This comes off the RV, and the 6 pin plugs into it and then to jeep (6 pin). My issue is they mounted the 7 pin sideways and it is so close to receiver hitch, its hard to get the 6 pin seated good. The black 7 pin is about 4" long.

We do have the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Extension # HM47055 that is also 8' long when stretched like the Hopkins 6-Way Connector with Jacketed Cable # H20036 that you found. The coiled cable will help to prevent the excess cord from dragging on the ground.

If you prefer the straight cable you will simply need to attach the other 6-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Connector # PK11604 on the end of the Hopkins cable. I have included a video linked below that will walk you through wiring up this end on the wire for you to reference.

We have a similar Roadmaster 6-Wire Straight Cord Kit # RM-98146 but it also requires you to wire up the 2nd end.

Since your RV has a 7-way you can eliminate the need for the 7-way blade to 6-way pin Adapter # A10-7276VP that you are using and instead use the Hopkins Endurance Flex-Coil Trailer Connector # HM47053 that uses a 7-way blade on one side and the 6-way pin connector on the other side.
