I wish it had a better polarity indicator, but other than that it seems well built.

by:

Cord is solid and connectors quality. Glow aspect is very nice.

by:

Extremely helpful and efficient serice

by:

This product will enable me to connect my MINI towed to my motorhome. The idea that the connectors on both ends will light up to aid in hooking up is a great creative way to help anyone who travels at night.
Thanks etrailer for a very creative product!

This cord is still my go to hook up for my toad. It does what its supposed to do!

by:

was having problems getting my toad lights to work properly and thought maybe the problem was with the motorhome, so today took both vehicles to Jim Campen Trailer Sales and had the wiring checked only to find that the Hopkins Coiled Connector is apparently wired different than the standard. They checked the wiring and connected a blue ox coiled cable and everything worked correctly, so said that the Hopkins cable is wired wrong. Had to buy a new cable.

by:

This unit replaced one that failed near the end of the warranty. Unfortunately, it appears to be failing in the same manner, the plug at the 4 pin end is starting to pull away from the cable and I assume will stop working. The cable is nice looking at a reasonable cost, but the ends are not well enough made to handle the constant tension of the wire in this application.

by:

Etrailer is a very solid company for all of my RV and trailer needs. They help me find the right product for my vehicles and have very helpful installation instructions and videos. Their pricing is reasonable and the shipping times are very good with excellent follow-up.

by:

As described. Well made.

by:

Huge inventory to meet most every need, etrailer is as good as it gets with great service before and after the sale topped off with fast shipment.

Works as good as the day it was received. The yellow insulation has frayed quite a bit, but I wrapped the frayed areas with a good quality electrical tape which has taken care of the issue. Other than the fraying, have been highly satisfied with the product. Would buy again.

by:

This cord adapter is just what I needed to hook my motorhome electrical to my Jeep. it is well made and should last along time. Its enclosed lighting system is great when hooking up a night.
Ordering and shipping with etrailer is always easy and a pleasure.

by:

I am ‘five star satisfied’ with the products and service I have received from etrailer.
Parts are high quality, unlike merchandise I I’ve purchased elsewhere.
The customer service is high quality, again unlike others I’ve dealt with. Specifically, I have dealt with Danielle twice and she was fantastic. Pleasant, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. etrailer is lucky to have her on their team.

by:

As described. Good quality and works w ell

by:

The first one of these lasted about 18 months. The harness started to uncoil and the yellow insulation cracked and split exposing the wires. Warranty is 3 years.
Maybe I just got a bad one. I have ordered a replacement.

by:

Although I have yet to place this item service, it appears to be exactly what I ordered and need. If it works as good as it looks I will be very pleased. The yellow is a good safety item but do you think the color makes it a little condusive to someone with sticky fingers? Just a thought. Thank you for the good service and value.

by:

Product arrived very quickly after ordering. Appears to be a well constructed, quality light cord. Have not used it yet, but it will be the light cord between a motorhome and Cadillac SRX tow vehicle.

by:

Everything arrived in good condition and on time. I haven't used the parts yet but have no doubt from looking at everything that they will work as intended. good to know there are still professionals out there who care about what they sell. I will be a repeat customer.

by:

Got what I was looking for in a timely manner with great follow up from etrailer. The 7/4 cable is made of high quality materials.

by:

Just received product. I am going to have to rewire the plug on my car which is not the same as the new cord. Other people reviewing this product had the same problem. My car plug was professionally installed so I would assume they wired it the standard way.

by:

Used on moterhome/tow vehicle application. Worked great! Really liked the molded plugs. Eight foot length was just right.
Much bettter price than the OEM replacement part.
Definitely five star rating.

by:

I was very pleased with the fast service and quality of the product. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks etrailer !!!

by:

Item exactly what I was expecting it to be. Only difference: I paid half of what all the other suppliers quoted online. I bookmarked eTrailer.com and plan to use them often.

by:

It works, shipping was much quicker then I thought it would be,the cord does what was advertised. I like it and I'll definetly be calling on etrailer again as the prices and quickness of my order was top notch??

by:

It works well fit and finnish is good it should work for many years to come.

by:

Had the cord I needed while on the road. Fast service and delivery. Would recommend to anyone who may need parts.

by:

It worked well as a replacement until I bought a new Blue Ox system.

  • Availability of 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter
There sure is! To connect your tow vehicle that's equipped with a 4-Way flat to your camper that has a 7-Way connector I recommend using the Hopkins Adapter # 37185. This will plug right into the 4-Way on the vehicle to provide you with a 7-Way at the other end. If you only need to power the trailer's basic signal lights then you only need to ground the white wire to a clean bare metal surface and the remaining wires you see coming from the adapter (blue, black, and purple) can simply...

  • Installing 4-way Round Connector on Tow Vehicle
If the 4-way on your RV is a round socket, you will need to wire the Roadmaster 4-Wire Straight Cord Kit # RM-98164 to match the wiring on your RV function for function. Since RVs do not commonly come with 4-way round connectors, it is hard to say how the 4-way is wired. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test for the wire's functions. If the 4-way on the RV is not round, I recommend using the Hopkins Endurance Flex-Coil Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47043. This wiring extension...

  • Adapter Recommendation to go From 4-Way Round to 7-Way Blade
If you need an adapter to go from a 4-way round female socket to a 7-way blade socket the Hopkins Endurance Flex-Coil Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Nite-Glow # HM47043 is the correct coiled adapter for that. There isn't a specific adapter to go from a 4-way round to a 7-way round since the 4-way round isn't that common.

  • What Is The Wiring Configuration For 4-Way Round Connector
On a flat 4-way connector, the standard function is Green is the right turn signal and brake, Yellow is left turn signal and brake, White is ground, and Brown is the running lights, used when the headlights are on. You may want to test the wires for function just to be sure. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 for that. I have attached a photo that shows typical wiring for a 4-way round connector.

  • Is a 7-Round to 4-Round Adapter for Trailer Lights Available?
I can offer you a solution, though a 7-round to 4-round adapter is not available. What you will need to do is create your own by wiring a 7-round trailer end connector, # PK11700, and 4-round vehicle end connector, # RM-910030-1. I recommend going with the 14 gauge, Deka Jacketed 4-Wire, # DW04923-1, which is available per foot so you can get the amount you need. If you have an RV-style connector (which is often referred to as a 7-round), then the part you would be looking for is the Hopkins...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow GMC Canyon with Blue Ox Base Plate Installed
That's a Blue Ox base plate kit you have installed on your 2017 GMC Canyon so you'd want to use a Blue Ox Tow Bar like the Avail part # BX7420 which is one of the best and easiest to use options out there. Some tow bars are hard to connect/disconnect to and don't allow the vehicle to track well behind the tow vehicle but the Avail does a really great job with this. To connect the lighting solution you have now on the truck you'd need a coiled 7-way to 4-way round like the part # HM47043....

  • Wiring Adapter Recommendation to go From RV 7-Way to Toad 4-Way for Lighting
Sounds like you are asking how to hook up the magnetic tow bar wiring you have to your RV that has a 7-way flat RV connector. Your RV having separate turn signals from stoplights will not be an issue. The 7-way on your RV will already have the turn signal circuits converted to combined so that it matches your tow bar wiring. If you have a 7-way flat connector on your tow vehicle you would want the part # 787196. If your lights have a 4-way round you would need part # HM47043 instead.
