Just what I needed to get my load distribution hitch balanced properly
Etrailer customer service was very helpful

by:

The product was fine but the box it arrived in was torn and the product in view.

by:

Can't say how happy I'm am with my purchase experience, good price, quick shipping, and came just as it should. Actually came quicker than expected so was able to use the new truck to pull the camper with.

by:

Quick shipping. Product as described. The box was partially ripped open, but its a huge chunk of steel in a cardboard box, no big deal. Went from a 1/2 ton Chevy to a 1 ton Ford, needless to say I needed a longer shank. It looks great, very happy.

by:

Item ok to use but scuffed up as it had completely broken out of the packaging. Scuffs didn’t matter much but was lucky shipper managed to keep box (with ship label) and heavy item together

Always a pleasure to buy from etrailer

by:

Not much to you can say about a shank. However, the service was great. I had ordered a different (to short) shank from Amazon and it took a week to arrive and wasn't packed or wrapped with anything. The paint was chipped and the edges banged up so much it wouldn't go into the receiver with out filling the edges. etrailer had it delivered in 2 days and the custom packing was so so good I didn't think the box UPS deliver was the shank. Great job etrailer! You'll be the first place I now look for accessories for my truck and trailer.

The part is working great.

My order (107131659) arrived, but after test-fitting the extended shank onto my vehicle, I only have 6" of clearance on level ground. This will definitely not suffice, given the slope of my driveway.

I'm hoping to get some help. What I'm ultimately trying to do is get my tow vehicle & camper trailer's Equal-i-zer hitch set up correct so that the trailer couple and the vehicle hitch ball are relatively level with one another before the hitch is connected (as per Equal-i-zer's instructions). Unfortunately, this requires that I either lower the hitch (which, as I found, results in too low of clearance at the shank), or raise the trailer. Do you have any suggestions? What about an "axle swap," where the under-slung springs are moved to the top of the trailer's axles?

Thank you for your assistance and any recommendations you may have.

Mike L.

Depending on the diameter of your axle tube, it might be possible to swap the leaf springs from the underside to the top of the axle. This will gain you about the diameter of the axle as a gain in height. For a 2-38 inch diameter axle, use part K71-384-00 or for a 3 inch diameter axle, use K71-385-00.

Great product worked great after I lifted my 2500 Ram.
Yea Dat.

in a word, SLICK
A must have.

Equalizer
Weight Distribution Shank was required to fit up my Grand Cherokee to Bullet trailer. found it necessary to cut -off bottom of shank3 0r 4 inches to achieve ground clearance. Fair amount of time to dial it in but worth it. Could not be happier with the results .

by:

nice web site, easy to get around and find what I was looking for. I ordered a 9" drop for my Equalizer hitch and a correct size ball. They shipped as promised by etrailer. However the train had a derailment on it's way here. I sent an inquiry as to the where about of my package and they responded the next day with the train problem. I received an email and a phone call follow up from etrailer. I wasn't expecting this great customer service from them but was VERY PLEASED with the service. Got delayed a couple days NO PROBLEM for me. Looking thru the cataloge now for my next purchase.
Thank You etrailer
John

Just what we needed to make our e2 sway/weight distribution system fit our new Chevy Tahoe. We are pulling a 1961 Aristocrat Land Commander and the Tahoe's receiver is about one foot higher than the receiver on our previous tow vehicle. This shank is built like a tank and made everything fit perfectly.

by:

Great product at a reasonable price. Customer service was very helpful in determining the drop I needed and selecting the right shank.

Great and have had no issues with it!

by:

We received our drop hitch last week, and we were not disappointed! It is a well made, heavy duty hitch. We haven't used it as yet due to having surgery and not being able to put it on the truck, but we bought it to lower our present hitch that was too high to pull our camper.

by:

Wow! Placed the order, two days later it is in my hands! With free shipping! I am impressed with etrailer once again! The EQ90-02-4400, 9" drop shank appears to be of the same quality as the original Equalizer short shank. While I haven't been able to install the piece as yet, I have no doubt it will work flawlessly.
5 Stars Plus to etrailer. I always recommend etrailer to anyone needing TT parts or accessories. You will not be disappointed!!

by:

Functionally the hitch is fine. The finish on it was very bad, it looks like they got the hitch from a scratch and dent sale and sprayed on some cheap paint. The hitch was supposed to be dipped but you could see the chipped paint underneath and smell the paint they put on it. I hope it will not rust out right away.

by:

Needed to lower the height of my hitch ball after upgrading to an HD pickup truck. This adapter did the trick!!

by:

Worked to drop my hitch down another couple of inches after I got my lift. No frills..does what it is supposed to do

by:

Bought new truck needed more drop for travel trailer hitch worked perfectly

by:

The lady who took my order by phone was simply fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and had a wonderful personality. I placed my order on Monday at approximately 3:30 pm and received it on Wednesday at 2:00 pm. We have never received an order so quick as we live out of town in the country. By the way, the order was well packaged and in perfect condition. Thank you and have a great day!!!

by:

Arrived early and was exactly what I needed to raise the hitch on my SUV to match up to the trailer hitch.

by:

Love the equalizer hitch. All business. Christie was exceptional, and pleasant to work with. I will shop with etrailer again, and hold out for Christie.

by:

Bought a truck with an 8" lift and needed a new shank to pull my travel trailer. This fit the bill perfectly. Thank you!

  • Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Ford Raptor Towing Airstream Globetrotter
In order to choose the correct weight distribution system for your truck and trailer, it is really important to know your trailer's loaded and ready to tow tongue weight. Since this is the primary weight being distributed by a weight distribution system, it is the main factor in choosing a properly rated system. If you end up towing your camper at it's max gross vehicle weight rating of 6,500 lbs, and the tongue weight falls between 10% and 15% of the total trailer weight, we can expect...

  • Troubleshooting 2K Trailer Sway While Towing with a 2021 Ram 2500 Cummins
It sounds like your camper is catching wind on the highway and causing that sway you're talking about. • How to Choose the Correct Shank for an Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System
The general rule of thumb is that if the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the trailer is more than 50% of the GVWR of the vehicle, a weight distribution system is recommended. Therefore, yes you will want to use a weight distribution system. In order to choose the correct weight distribution system, you will need to find the total tongue weight (TTW) of your towing setup by adding the tongue weight (TW) of both your loaded ready to tow trailer and any cargo stored behind the rear...
