My experience with etrailer was wonderful! I have an equalizer hitch and switched vehicles and the shank I had would not work. I went on the web site and used the the tool to figure out what shank I needed, ordered it and received it on time as promised! The company sent me a verification email of my order and I had no problem tracking it. Very professional company!

This is a BEEFY hitch shank. Works perfect with my Equal-i-zer weight distribution system.

by:

The original shank that came with the hitch had been cut off short, to stop dragging the ground when I was out Boondocking. Now I have had the axles flipped to raise the trailer higher, so I needed to flip the shank pointing up to get the correct ball height. The shank also needed to be back to its original length. Now the trailer rides level and the shank will not drag.

It shipped the same day as my order, and UPS got it to me in 2 days. Great products and service from Etrailer.

by:

Paint beat off if it. Appears to have been shipped around the world.

by:

Etrailer.com had the right product at the right price and FAST shipping - highly recommended

by:

I needed parts to complete a 4 point sway control WD Equalizer. Allison K.in customer service took my order and personally made sure that the order shipped on time to meet my needs. It was a pleasure to do business with etrailer. Parts arrived ahead of schedule and the shipping was free. I'm a happy camper!

by:

Exactly what was required to adapt our existing Equalizer Hitch to a new truck. Shank was in stock at the best price available anywhere, and shipping was free. The description shows a 1,400 lbs TW, the shank is actually rated for 1,000 lbs TW and 10,000 lbs GTW (per specs stamped into the shank).

by:

I placed an order for a shorter Equal-i-zer shank, a hitch lock, and some bar pins. Some of the pins were on back order so etrailer split the order shipment and I was able to install the new parts in time for our trip to the Olympic National Park. This is my fourth order with etrailer and each transaction has been great. They have great products and outstanding service. No time for a photo because we are departing for the park.
Thank you Susan H.

It has been about a year and approximately 4000 mile of towing with the Equal-i-zer hitch setup. The weight distribution and sway control have worked flawlessly and we have not noticed any problems with cross winds or passing 18 wheedlers. This is the third weight distribution hitch I have had and by fat the best.

by:

The shank is what I ordered, I have ordered from E-Trailer several times and have been pleased with everything I've ordered and received.

by:

Two thumbs up! Raised my hitch up exactly where I needed it to be to tow my travel trailer at the right height.

by:

It is exactly what I wanted. Ordering through E-Trailer was easy and very efficient. Keep up the good work! Made in the USA! Thank you.

by:

It looks like it will do the job. I will have to paint it again due to the paint being chipped.

by:

Purchased this item because my rv dealer installed the wrong shank on my equalizer hitch. I haven't towed with it yet, but so did install the hitch to the shank. All good so far. Item arrived fast from etrailer and despite the item being fairly heavy it survived in the box.

I'm using this shank on a 2012 f150 FX4 towing a 32 foot travel trailer.

by:

I purchased this from etrailer because it was 'authentic' and USA Made. There are others that claim to be the Equalizer brand but Country of Origin was not USA. Equalizer proudly claims USA. So for this product I give 5 stars. However.....

Shipping is listed as 2 day shipping. I feel this is a little misleading. My order was placed on 4/16 (Saturday) with a delivery date of 4/19. I understand it was a weekend so it wouldn't go out until Monday. Product shipped late on 4/18 but didn't receive an origin scan until 4/19. Was finally delivered on 4/21 - 2 days after it was shipped. So technically, they are correct - received it 2 days after it was 'shipped' (well really 3 days). Not 2 days from when it was ordered.

So if you are counting on that delivery date listed at time of order, in my opinion, don't.

by:

Perfect solution for the new travel trailer. I needed to raise the ball height for proper setup of my WD hitch and this product was perfect for the task! Etrailer ordering was easy, delivery was fast and all is well for our next trip.

by:

Everything came in the package and the product came earlier than I expected. Installing it was fairly easy. However the only thing that proved difficult was Torquing the ball down on the hitch head which luckily [RV dealer] was good enough to do that for me. I am happy With the product and looking forward to using it.

by:

Same as above

by:

Great service and fast shipping at a great price. This is the second order I have placed and both were shipped fast with no problems. Follow-up and tracking were great too! etrailer is my goto place for all my towing needs... My first order was a complete Equal-i-zer system. The Equal-i-zer setup is the best by far. Using it on my RV.

by:

A hitch shank is sort of like an anvil; as long as it is the correct size it can't be hurt. The shipping box was pretty much destroyed when it arrived the the shank was still just fine.

Your detailed tracking information is great! Customer knows every stop along the route to the final destination..

by:

All the Equal-i-zer products seem robust, and the company is one of the oldest in the business. Great service from etrailer to boot.

by:

I appreciate that e-trailer had the medium size shank on stock. Other suppliers only had the long shank which I would have had to cut off.

by:

High quality shank I ordered with the hitch head and ball. The Equa-lizer distribution/sway system is top notch and maybe in the USA! It came a day earlier than expected as well!

by:

Etrailer was the only firm that had this shank in stock that I needed in time to use my trailer for an event. They insured the order was processed and I got the product in 48 hours. It fit great and got me on the road. Courteous and quick service.

by:

Second time buying things from etrailer. Excellent service! Stuff installed and working great!!

by:

Just exactly what I needed. Heavy duty, well built. Thanks.

  • Replacement Shank and Head for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System
It sounds like you are just needing to replace the adjustable shank for your Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System. If this is the case, then all you need is the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4100. This will work perfectly with your existing system and features up to a 7 inch rise or a 3 inch drop. I have attached a short video demonstration on this part that you can also check out. We do also have replacement heads for the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems if that...

  • Replacement Shank, Head and Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET
For your Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET, you can use the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4100, which has a maximum rise of 7 inches and a maximum drop of 3 inches. For the system head, you will use the Equal-i-zer Replacement Head # EQ90-02-1000. This is designed specifically for the 1,000 pound tongue weight system you have and for the compatible 2-5/16 inch hitch ball you will use # EQ91-00-6100. • How to Determine What Rise/Drop That is Needed for Weight Distribution System
To determine how much of a Rise or Drop you would need so that your towing setup is level you will need to compare some measurements. Start off my parking your 2017 GMC on level ground and then measuring from the ground to the top of the receiver opening. You will then want to park your trailer on level ground and measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. If the top of your receiver opening is taller (which is most likely the case) you will want to subtract the height of the...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch With 4-Point Sway Control For 9,500 lb Travel Trailer
It is definitely a smart idea to get the 4-point sway control weight distribution hitch, since that style offers the best sway control for the smoothest, most comfortable towing experience of your trailer. What you will need is a hitch from Equal-i-zer, and for a trailer that weighs 9,500 lbs when loaded, the correct option is the following: - Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution with 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37141ET This system is for tongue weights between 1,000 lbs and 1,400 lbs, which...

  • Is Anything Else Needed to Install the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37041ET
The only thing you will need to add to the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37041ET you referenced is an adjustable shank. For this, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4100, which will give you up to a 7 inch rise or a 3 inch drop. For this same system that includes the shank, you can use # EQ37040ET. I have attached a short video demonstration on this system that you can also check out.

This will help reduce sway and sag while eliminating axle wrap, wheel hop, and bottoming out. The RAS also helps improve the life of your suspensions and tires. • Will Curt Weight Distribution Shank Work in Place of Equal-i-zer Shank for 2 Inch Receiver
Weight distribution shanks are one of the few parts that are okay to swap between brands and still work; since both shanks fit in a 2" hitch receiver you can use the Curt Adjustable Weight Distribution Shank # C17100. • Choosing the Correct Rise for Weight Distribution Shank
To choose the correct weight distributing shank, you will just need to determine the height of the top of your Expedition's hitch receiver as well as the height of the bottom of the trailer's coupler. The numbers you mentioned are related to the height setting of the weight distribution system and not the length you are asking about which would give you more tailgate clearance. • Solution for a Shank on a Equal-i-zer WDS That Drags When Backing Up
Yes, using a shorter shank for your WDS would eliminate the dragging you're experiencing. To get you set up, I'd need to know the current length of your shank, the tongue weight of the shank, and approximately how much shorter you'd wager it'd need to be. For instance, if you had the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank # FA92-02-4214 you'd definitely see a benefit in your situation if you used the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank # FA92-02-4100.
