Always great products, might want to rethink using ups they left my package by the road behind a tree 200’ from my house! Would be gone if I had not seen people slowing down looking at the busted open package!

by:

Solved my problem of the ball being too high on my weight distribution hitch. etrailer shipping is fast I highly recommend them for RV and trailer needs.

by:

It's a solid shank. Holes are spaced correctly, and chamfered. No burrs, and welds seem to have decent penetration. Not sure if I would feel safe using it at its limits of 1500tw and 15k gtw, but only because of the hitch it goes into. Could be made cheaper but not by much - there's a lot of steel here.

by:

Extremely nice drop hitch. Heavy duty and very well built. I put it to use the day I received it and am very pleased.

by:

Had to cut the bottom off,and add a hole, but works great for my lifted truck

by:

I am very happy with this product. It is well made, heavy duty product. I recommend this for anyone who has a lifted truck and plans to tow safely.

by:

Very well built! Heavyweight! The husky weight distribution hitch fits this shank like a glove. Only issue at all I have is after doing a lot of research and reading reviews I decided on this shank to allow for a even ride height for my camper and trailer. My truck is a ram 2500 with 6.5 lift and 35’s and honestly this shank may be to much of a drop. Not the companies fault. 100% my fault for going off of others reviews and recommendations. I will have to get some weight on it and see. If nothing else I may have to cut some off the bottom of the shank and use the two top most holes.

by:

This is the second hitch I've bought cant say enough about etrailer first hitch was a fifth wheel then this drop for my dually. Needed the drop to pull a bumper pull tiny house. Great service fast shipping hitch looks well built. The only disappointment I have is it is made in China. I prefer buying American but it appears to be well made welds look great I hope its not made from recycled metal time will tell I hope this helps anyone buying a hitch

by:

Purchased a 12" distribution shank from e-trailer to tow my horse trailer on my new motorhome. I bought it from etrailer because they had the best price and free delivery. The distribution shank I received was awesome. It solid steel and out together really good. I could not have been happier. When purchasing any trailer items I always check with etrailer first. I have never been disappointed yet.

by:

I had used a dropped hitch to move the trailer but with a rating of only 5,000 lbs. I could never use the trailer at it's full 12,000 lb. capacity nor I could use the weight distributing hitch, the Curt Weight Distribution Shank rated @ 15,000 lbs. addresses both these issues in one part built exactly for this purpose, couldn't be happier with this purchase.

by:

Great Drop hitch for pulling my Bike Trailer .

by:

This is one heavy duty weight distribution shank. I am very happy with etrailer, the product, and the few days it took to deliver it.

Thank you ;-)

by:

I have a 97 F350 with four inches of lift and 37in tires. Works great with my truck for a level travel trailer.

by:

etrailer.com had everything that I needed for a difficult set up that I had to arrange. Nice catalog of items, easy to use website, and everything was delivered in four days. Perfect!

by:

Good place to find different applications. Cordial people when I call; very helpful. Hope it continues.

by:

Ordered it on Monday afternoon showed up the next day when I got home from work. Fast free shipping and a very good price. The drop shank will be perfect for my lifted truck.

by:

Unlike previously posted reviews, the packaging of this hitch was exceptional, it was a box within a box, no damage what so ever. Product was as described and shipped promptly!

by:

This thing is a tank! The square tubing is solid steel, where many are hollow. The gusseting and the welds are super thick, and the coating is great. It may be more weight than some people want to deal with, but nothing on this is going to break. Fast shipping!

by:

Hi Nicky, this one is getting sent back thanks for taking the time to help establish the proper set up for my truck and trailer!

by:

Product is extremely stout and should work for your heavy duty application

by:

very happy with the products, fast shipping

by:

As advertised. Did have to drill a couple of extra holes in it as there was nothing between this drop and the next shorter one. also cut off unneeded length.
Works fine now.

by:

This shank was very well made. Just not the right length. Had to get a smaller one. I had no trouble buying it or returning it. They where very helpful and nice. The delivery time was very fast too. Went with the normal delivery and it was at my door in 2 days. Was very surprised. Definitely would recommend.

by:

I was very impress with how quickly it got to me! It was just what I needed. I would choose you to do buiness with anytime.

by:

Quality product, has worked flawlessly every time.

  • Needing Weight Distribution Shank to Provide 12 Inches of Drop
The Curt # C17125 measures 12 inches in overall length and will provide a drop up to 16-1/4 for a round bar weight distribution system or up to 15-3/4 for a trunnion bar system. Since you need a 12 inch drop, the # C17125 would work for you, and would allow for some adjustability if needed.

  • Adjustable Ball Mount with 2 inch Ball with Higher Drop/Rise Figure
The part # C17125 is actually for a weight distribution system so if you were looking for an adjustable ball mount that has a 2 inch ball with more drop we do have the part # HD2014 which can do 14 inches of rise or drop.

  • Weight Distribution Shank for Needing 15 inches of Drop
Thanks for the pictures of both your coupler height and hitch height. Based on that you'd need a shank that would provide 14-15 inches of drop. The shank we offer that would get you closest to that would be the Curt part # C17125 which can do a drop of up to 15-3/4 inches for a trunnion setup or 16-1/4 inches for a round bar setup.

  • How Are Weight Distribution Shanks Measured
Rise/Drop shanks like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ94FR are measured from the top of the receiver opening and shank; this shank is 12" and provides a maximum of 13" of rise or 9" of drop when measured from the top of the hitch receiver. This is also the longest shank we currently have available for a 2-1/2" hitch, but you could use the Curt Weight Distribution Shank - 12" Long - 15-3/4" or 16-1/4" Drop - 1,500 lbs TW # C17125 with a sleeve reducer like the # C45405 to make...

  • Recommended Reducer Sleeve For 2-1/2" Hitch and 2" Curt Weight Distribution Shank
I do have an option for you but there is not a weight distribution shank that offers as much drop as the Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17125 that fits in a 2-1/2" hitch receiver. I recommend to use the Curt Reducer Sleeve part # C45405 which will reduce your 2-1/2" hitch down to a 2" hitch receiver to use the Curt Shank C17125. We have confirmed with Curt in the past that the reducer sleeve is compatible with weight distribution systems. I have attached a video for your reference.

  • Weight Distribution Hitch With 14 Inch Drop
In order to get 14 inches of drop you will need to use Curt Weight Distribution Shank # C17125 and for a 450 lb total tongue weight I recommend the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution # RP66073, which prevents sway instead of just reducing it with a cam system that is unique among manufactuers. Also note this weight distribution system will require a hitch ball, either # A-90 for a 2" ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16" ball. The Strait-Line # RP66073 has a tongue weight capacity of between...

  • Tall Drop Shank Available for Use with Husky Weight Distribution on Lifted Vehicle
You are going to need quite a bit of drop since your truck is lifted so high. The one with the most drop that we offer that would work well is the Curt # C17125. This shank has 20-7/8 inches from the top of the shank down to the very bottom like what you see in the picture I attached. For a drop shank with not quite as much drop we have the # C17124 which has 13-1/2 inches instead. Both of these will work with a Husky weight distribution system.

  • Weight Distribution Shank that Has Most Drop
To determine how much drop/rise you need you need to measure from the top of the hitch opening on your Tahoe down to the ground and then while your trailer is level measure from the bottom lip of the coupler to the ground. The difference between these dimensions is the drop/rise you need. The shank we have with the most drop is the Curt # C17125 which can do a drop of up to 16-1/4 inches if the system is a round bar system or 15-3/4 inches if the system is a trunnion bar.
