Recommended Weight Distribution Shank with a 9" drop.

Question:

Hello I have a question about the equalizer. I have the sway control 6k — 14k Hitch. I have a 2008 Airstream Safari Sport with a pretty low coupler. The on the standard shank is 7 1/2” doesn’t go low enough so I bought another equalizer shank which has a 13” shank which works at leveling the trailer but the shank is waaay to low to the ground. Is there an in-between length shank? Or can I cut the longer shank and part of the truss? Thank you so much!

I do not recommend cutting your weight distribution shank. We do have an option for one that has a 9" drop it is the Equal-i-zer Wt Distribution Shank item # EQ90-02-4400. This shank is closer to the lower end of in-between. I have linked a diagram with the dimensions below so you can compare it to your current ones.

This shank fits a 2" hitch has a 13" rise and a 9" drop. It has a gross trailer weight of 14,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 600 lbs - 1,400 lbs.
