A little to much play in the wheel hub. No appropriate sized bolt for the strap included. Product seems robust enough, time will tell.
Packaging of the product was abysmal. Although, it is metal, it was delivered in the original box that looked like it took a few tumbles. The box was cut open and the other product I purchased was placed inside and then taped. The products really should have been placed inside another plain box, however, since it was in the original retailed packaging, it screamed look what I bought when delivered.

Worked out perfectly. I replaced a Shelby 5405 with the DL 1400 and it was really easy to do it. The holes matchedd.

this box was also in between two tires in the same shipment. the box was completely destroyed & the hardware bag is missing. needs to be replaced.

It took a 7 days to even ship 2 items your website said was in stock. And you wonder why people buy from Amazon! I try and support local and specialty retailers but I think you have to get a lot better. Do I expect to get it in 24 hours like Amazon? No. But I do expect it to be shipped in 24 hours. Not 7 Days on an item that you say is in stock. I will go to Amazon from now on. You have lost a customer.

Fast delivery, part fit as it should and worked. Haven't had the boat on the ramp yet but I don't expect any problems using the winch. If so, then Nitro under sized the winch. The first one failed before one year and they didn't cover under warranty. If this one fails, I will have to consider upsizing the next one. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Typically, youll want to get a hand winch thats rated for at least half the weight of your boat, assuming you have carpeted bunks. If you have roller bunks, you can get by with one thats rated for 1/3 the boats weight. For bare wood bunks or long winching distance, youd want something with a weight rating that equals or exceeds the weight of your boat. Winch appears fairly robust and well made. I am disappointed that the central shaft is such a small diameter and it is clearly designed to be used with webbing. Unless I misread the description, it said this winch was suitable for use with wire, which is my intention. The small shaft is not suitable for wire and the included instructions state if wire is to be used, it is recommended to get the larger drum. Kinda late since I purchased four. It will work but rough on the wire on such a small radius shaft.
