Replacement Handle for Shelby 5404 Winch

Question:

I need to replace a winch handle on my Shelby Model 5404. Would the Dutton-Lanson 7 Single Speed handle fit. The hole size of the arm where it engages the winch is what I need. Mine is 3/8 to the square sides and 1/2 to the rounded sides.

The handles for the Dutton-Lainson Single Speed Winches feature a mounting hole size that is a bit larger than what is on the handle for your existing Shelby Model 5404 Winch.

We do have the Replacement Handle for Fulton Hand Winch # F501110 that features the same measurements you took on your mounting hole. The hole on this handle measures 3/8 inch to the square sides and 1/2 inch to the rounded sides. Keep in mind though that this handle has not been tested with your Shelby winch so I cannot guarantee that it will fit and work well.

Since Shelby is no longer in business, you might also consider replacing your winch altogether since replacement parts will be hard to come by.

For a replacement winch I recommend taking a look at the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL14996. This has a similar design to your existing Shelby unit and it features a 1,500 pound capacity. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.

Unfortunately we don't have any replacement handles for that model. Since Shelby is no longer in business, your best option will be to replace the entire winch. The Dutton-Lainson # DL15721 would work really well in its place.
