Boat Trailer Winch Recommendation for a 1,300 lb Boat

Question:

I currently have the 1,100 lb model and it is rated at a 49 Mechanical Advantage, This 1,400 lb model is rated a 74 mechanical advantage. Is this significantly better or do I need to move up to the 1600lb 2 speed model? The winch is used to pull a 17 foot deep V aluminum boat onto wood bunks not rollers. The hull and motor are probably around 1300 lbs and I would like to make it easier get the boat on the trailer..

The Dutton-Lainson Winch # DL15303 that you referenced will be an upgrade from your current winch that has an 1,100 lb capacity and a 49 mechanical advantage as this winch has a 74 mechanical advantage and a higher capacity. The cranking will be much easier with this winch so I would recommend it for you. Check out the review video I attached for more info on it.

I also attached an FAQ on hand winches for you to check out as well.
