Installation was easy and quality of materials is excellent. The mechanism is positive and works flawlessly. I’d highly recommend this winch for replacement of your old one.
This hand winch delivers power at a 5 to 1 gear ratio. Good for loading heavier boats (+1600 lb). A previous purchase from etrailer was supposed to be a 5:1 ratio but, when I tested it at home, it delivered only 4:1.

Works like a charm. Ive upgraded to a new Karavan trailer and converted my old trailer to carry my kayak. I removed my winch for a spare if needed. This winch is much more substantial than OEM equipment you normally see. This winch is built more solid and heavier duty than most Ive seen. Really a great product!
