This Dutton-Lainson single-speed, standard-duty winch is designed for multipurpose horizontal pulling operations.Don't install this winch without inspecting the drum! Dutton-Lainson winches were good and I have used them for years. This one I would give it less than a poor rating. The drum on this one was so covered in welding spatter that I could not put my new strap that I bought with it, on. I would even be hesitant to put a cable on in fear that it would start fraying it after a few uses. The rest of the winch was ok but if the drum is bad, that is where you strap runs and if your strap gets damage then you run the risk of it snapping at an in opportune time. So I would not purchase this winch until this problem from the factory gets addressed.
Works as it should. Haven't had any problems out of it after a year.
Received Item damaged, missing parts and very poor to no packaging for proper shipment. Waiting for corrective action by etrailer.
WOW! This winch is just what I wanted really great! Although back ordered it was worth the wait. Thanks for carrying the exact product that I wanted. After one year, it works really great! Should I ever need another one, your the place to go to, as Ive told all of my friends and relatives. Have a happy new year.
Bolted easily to the trailer. Have used one time so far and it did a great job pulling the boat onto the trailer. Time will tell how this will hold up but so far no complaints.

Still working great after a year. Taking boat out for fist time next weekend.
put this baby on my single bale hauler that had a cheapo winch that wore out after the first year of use, now I have a rock solid winch that cranks up a 1200 lb bale with ease, love it!!!

Used this for over a year now to move a lot of bales and its still working like a champ!
I ordered a boat wench. Product works great. Prices are reasonable and company was fair, competitive and courteous!
Great winch. Gearing is set up to give you a smooth easy pull. Makes a difference for us older guys. Beats the Fulton I had hands down

Everything still working great. Remember, I live in a part of the world where the lake water is soft for only 8 months of the year
