Is There a Shorter Handle for the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch DL1402A

I currently have a DL1402A winch but due to have steps getting in my boat the winch handle hits the steps, i need a shorter winch handle or a winch with shorter handle. what do you recommend?

The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch part # DL15303 comes with a 9-1/2" long handle. The only available handle offered in a shorter length is the Replacement Handle for Dutton-Lainson Single Speed Hand Winch part # DL70305 which measures 7" long.
