One year out after the install and everything is holding up well...as expected! Very happy with my purchase.

by:

My order came earlier than expected

by:

Quick shipping, great products, and what I ordered

by:

The equalizer kit was part of a trailer suspension rebuild. The complete kit was less expensive than an equalizer only kit. I did not need the frame brackets but they are as good if not better than the OE brackets. This is an excellent kit to use when building or repairing a tandem axle trailer. After several uses, all parts are working as expected.

by:

These parts look more heavy duty than the original and quick shipping

by:

I had a trailer kit for the tandom axle horse trailer. It came with more than I needed or installed in my application but a year later it's working great, thanks.

by:

Overall Good. I couldn't get the order tracking to work from my email but when I called and got the delivery date it was on time. Cheapest trailer parts I could find I even told to a a friend who sell some parts and these prices where lower than him at cost.

by:

The original box that was shipped got damaged and lost a few parts. I contacted customer service and they shipped me the missing parts no charge. Another good experience.

by:

Purchased springs and hanger kit for tandom axle trailer,
They look great.

by:

I actually ran into the site by accident. I initially purchased a few items from a big box store and after reading and educating me on line I returned some of the items I previously purchased. I was able to return all items and for the almost the same price rebuilt my entire trailer.

by:

Products were easy to find online, each item was described accurately, shipping was free for an order over $100.00 and very prompt. I highly recommend etrailer.com!!!

by:

Very happy with product. Very happy with seller. The products were exactly what I needed for my trailer.

  • Help Determining Trailer Weight Capacity
Determining the weight capacity for a custom built trailer is a bit hard to do, but the general guide line is that the lowest rated component in the system will be the overall capacity. What is odd is that the tag reads GVWR 3,000 lbs which would normally indicate that the total the trailer can weigh with cargo is 3,000 lbs. This seems much less than the axle capacities which have 3,500 lbs per axle. 10 inch drums are used almost exclusively on 3,500 lb axles as well. So with all of the...

  • Trailer Hanger Kit Recommendation for Trailer with 25-/4 inch long Leaf Springs
Mobile home axle components can be hard to find replacement parts for, but if you have leaf springs part # e46SR the part # APT9 would be a great hanger kit to use. The distance on center between the spring hanger bolt holes for dual axle setups, with the # APT9 Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit, should be 29-1/2 inches for double eye springs that measure 25-1/4 inches on center between the spring eyes and for axles that are 3 inches in diameter. • Does Trailer Suspension 7-3/4 Inch Equalizer EQ-E1 Have a Weight Capacity
Equalizer # TREQE1 does not have a weight capacity itself. It isn't bearing much of the weight compared to other components in a trailer suspension set up. If you have a tandem axle trailer then you could potentially use kit # APT5, # APT3, # APT9, # APT8, # APT7, or # APT3HD. All of these kits have the 7-3/4 inch long equalizers. For a triple axle trailer you could use # APTT5 or # APTT3. All of the above kits also come with hangers. If you do not need hangers then you would need to...

  • Recommended Spring Hanger Kit for Load Rite Boat Trailer 3X5 Box Frame, 7200 lbs Gross Suspension
There are a lot of variables to consider when selecting a hanger kit. First you should select a kit that will accommodate the wheel and tire combination you are using. The # APT3 kit is a good choice for smaller wheel and tire combinations like 14 inch wheel and tire combinations and the # APT5 kit would be a good choice for 15 or 16 inch wheel and tire combinations since it provides a bit more clearance for tire height. • Tandem Axle Hanger Kit # APT9 Recommendation for a Homemade Trailer
The suspension kit that would be the closest to what you have on your trailer would definitely be the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APT9. The minor dimensional differences would not cause an issue. Since the equalizers would be 3/4 of an inch longer I would recommend you compensate for that with hanger spacing. The distance on center between the spring hanger bolt holes for dual axle setups, with the # APT9 Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit, should be 29-1/2 inches for double eye springs...

  • Using Shorter Equalizers When Replacing Suspension Components
The #APT9 kit will work well for you. Since the equalizers are only 1/4 inch shorter than your current ones, the shackle straps should provide you with enough play to be able to place the new hangers in the same position as your current hangers. If you'd like to give yourself a bit of extra room, you could get longer shackle straps to use in place of the ones that come in the kit. For example, the shackle straps in the kit are 2-5/8 inches long, but you could use # TRSL275 shackle straps...

  • Center Hanger Interference Troubleshooting for a Tandem Axle Trailer Converted to Single Axle
If I am understanding you correctly it sounds like there is a center hanger mounted directly above the axle of your trailer (that is on top of your leaf springs) that is preventing the trailer suspension from being able to travel. If this is the case I would remove that hanger as it is preventing your trailer suspension from functioning. If the springs are flat without any bow to them they might be overloaded or just worn out. If you look on the frame of your trailer there should be a...

  • What is the Weight Capacity for the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APT9
The Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit, # APT9, is designed for a double-eye leaf spring setup which typically utilizes springs for 2,000 to 7,000 lb trailer axles, or up to 3,500 lbs for each spring, see link. The hanger kits are not given a capacity rating because they are designed to work with all of the springs that are sized correctly to work with the hangers. It sounds like # APT9 is the correct hanger kit for you. Do the 2-5/8 inch shackle straps and 7-3/4 equalizers match your current parts? The hangers of the kit are a 1/4 inch shorter than your current ones but if everything else matches that's not going to be a problem for you.

  • Troubleshooting Axle Coming Out of Alignment on Tandem Axle Trailer
The front (or rear) axle definitely shouldn't be wandering around like what you described on your friend's tandem axle trailer. I recommend making sure that the slipper springs are securely attached to the center and front/rear hangers and the equalizer is in good condition. Also make sure that your hangers are appropriate for the width of your slipper springs. It's possible that you are using hangers for wider springs and it's allowing the rear portion of the spring to angle a bit during...

  • How to Determine Axle Placement for Tandem Trailer
The general rule for placement of axles on a trailer is to put them in a position that allows 10 to 15 percent of the trailer's total weight to be at the tongue. Hitting this range of tongue weight (TW) is important for avoiding issues with trailer sway. Too little TW leads to trailer sway. You'll want to firm up the design of the trailer first, meaning first mounting permanent fixtures like tool boxes or tanks, so that their weight is accounted for when you mock up the axle positions....

  • Tandem Axle Spring Hanger Spacing Recommendation for # APT9
The hanger spacing needed for use with the # APT9 is 29-1/2 inches measured on center of the bolt holes. This works well with the equalizer since it's length (7-3/4 inches) is split on each side of the equalizer. When you add half of the equalizer to the length of your spring (25-1/4 + 3-7/8) you end up right at 29-1/4 inches which would work out perfectly.

Typically when building a tandem axle trailer I recommend using either the # APT3 or # APT5 Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit. The # APT5 kit is by far the most common because all the hangers are the same height and provide good tire clearance. There are a lot of variables when selecting a hanger kit. • Troubleshooting Leaf Springs Bolts that are Binding Up When Shackle Bolts are Tightened
You are tightening the shackle bolts too much if they are binding up. The shackle bolts do not require a specific torque rating because tightening the shackle bolts too much will squeeze the shackle straps against the leaf springs and the whole suspension system will bind and cause problems. The best thing to do when tightening down shackle bolts is to use lock nuts and tighten them until they are snug and then backed off 1/4 turn. Lock nuts should be used because they resist loosening...

So then for a U-bolt kit you'd want the part # CE23003 which fits the 3 inch round axles which are the size of 5,200 lb axles. On it the center to center distance between axles is 33-1/2 inches (suggested) and since your tire size of 255/75-15 has an overall diameter of 28.6 inches then there will be plenty of space.
