Today we're going to be taking a look at the butterfly vent and gasket from Polar Hardware. The butterfly vent is going to provide ventilation for your trailer, or whatever it is you'd like to install it on. This can also be used with the Polar roof ventilator. Model PLR24. The unit's going to be made form aluminum lightweight construction, that's going to be highly resistant to rust and corrosion. The vent is going to include this nice little gasket here.
What that does, is it creates a nice tight seal at the mounting location, and provides some cushion, at the mounting location. The unit's going to give us a diameter measure from outer edge to outer edge, of 7 1/4 quarter of an inch. The mount holes, these are going to be separated on center going this direction, by 4 9/16 of an inch. If we take a measurement straight across, those are going to be separated on center by 6 1/2 inches. Your mounting hardware is not included, so that is going to be sold separate. The mount hole diameter, it's going to measure right at a 1/4 of an inch.
The opening, so from this edge to this edge right here, that's going to give us an opening measurement. Looks to be 5 11/16 of an inch. If we take a look at the measurement we have from the edge of one blade to the edge of the other, that's going to measure 5 7/8 of an inch. This is not a waterproof design, it's not a waterproof vent. We recommend installing it on the side of your trailer, with the openings running front to back or parallel to the ground. It would be just mounted like this.
Like I'm showing it to you now. This mounting option will be the best position, for keeping out the most amount of moisture, if your in a situation where this is exposed to a lot of moisture. It's got nice and easy operation. The vent opens and closes very easily, and again it's aluminum, so it's got that nice lightweight design to it as well. It's highly resistant to rust and corrosion.

Fits perfect!
Converted a propane grill into charcoal. Needed that venting system.......found the perfect part. Can finally control the heat and let some of the smoke out with this vent.
The air vents were just what i expected. I will be using them to channel air into my horse trailer during the summer months. In winter or inclement weather i will be able to close them when traveling/
This is just what I was looking for at a good price. The gasket is helpful for a better seal. I'm actually using it in my house as a seasonal airflow change to the main AC duct.
