Changing your hitch ball size is as easy as pushing out the integrated pin.
No need to get out the heavy wrenches. Convert-A-Ball's interchangeable balls are equipped with integrated pins, making it easy to change out your hitch ball for one of another size.
To switch balls, simply push in the integrated pin (using a pen or your finger) to release and remove installed ball. Then just replace with different-size ball, reversing the process.

Let's talk about a better mousetrap! This is one of the most versatile towing balls! Ever want to swap out a hitch but didn't want to unpin or unbolt? This two-in-one system allows interchanging the hitch balls with the 2 most popular sizes (Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set # 800B - 1-7/8", 2" Balls - 3/4" XL Shank - Nickel). I use it on my utility tractor when I want to pull the trailer around but don't need (or want) to hook up the big truck - see the picture. I've had this type of convertable ball in the past- excellent product. I needed a convertible a few years ago- bought the type with the flat-head screw on top. Turn it and it releases a set of ball bearing to release the ball. Had problems with it from day one. After it got some corrosion in it I could not get the ball off. Tried penatrating oil, heat and the big hammer method. All I got was a stripped screw head. None of the Auto Parts stores I checked carry the pin-type convertible ball, or any of the hardware stores. Don't know why- but they're wrong.
I sold the vehicle with the pin-type convertible. It worked for many years in road-salt ridden PA.

Owning 2 trailers - one with a 2" and one with a 1-7/8" - makes this invaluable in being able to switch between them easily. I also have a bicycle rack that clicks on the empty shank when the ball is removed, making this a requirement.

It's a great product, put the first one on my mom's explorer because we tow 2 trailers with different size balls. For a couple of days of trying to “buy local,” then failing to locate a retailer (via online inventories, phone calls, visits, etc.) with a Convert-A-Ball in-stock, I finally went back to etrailer. The kit took less than a week to receive. etrailer’s staff always gives an outstanding level of customer service, a set of skills sometimes lacking from other companies. Very easy to install and the balls change very easily. Ball pin hammer center punches to aid in removing the locking pins within the balls. This ball hitch system makes it very easy to change from trailer to trailer.

This interchangeable hitch ball is indispensible when you need different hitch ball sizes for different trailers. I've had the ball set for the class three hitch for twenty years and when I got a class one hitch, I just has to have fhe flexibility this set offers.

Just what the Dr. ordered. This is the system that I thought I was ordering from another online site. I feel this one, etrailer, is safer. The other Brand "Reese", has ballbearings that hold ball onto the base. If load is light on tongue, doesn't seem safe. I prefer the inserted pin.

This is my second Convert- A- Ball system and as in the past, I found it totally reliable. The push through pin lock is far superior to other types that require a rotational plus vertical movement which requires constant lubrication. I only wish Convert- A- Ball used a higher grade of SS as mine have rusted around the base.

Trailer tung gets stuck between cone shape section and ball. I would have to get a large bar to get apart a few times. I do not use anymore and bought two seperate balls.

Installed today and towed without a problem. I have 2 different trailers, 1 with a 2" hitch and 1 with 1 7/8". It has always been a pain to switch balls. This makes life easy.
