Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Gen Y bolt on one and seven eighth inch hitch ball. This hitch ball, again, is a one and seven eighth inch diameter ball and it comes with the bolt, this is a three quarter inch diameter bolt that measures four inches long. The ball has a 3500 pound tow rating and it is compatible with all two inch and two and a half inch shank Gen Y adversive ball mounts. It's made from a steel construction, with powder coat finishing, to resist rust and corrosion, and the product is made in the USA.It's a very simple installation so I have a two inch ball mount. This is my two ball mount so it has a two inch and a two and five sixteenth inch ball. It has the hole right here so that way we can add on our one and seven eighth inch ball.
Take the bolt and this rock washer, place it through the hole, and then you just take this, you thread it on . you will need to use a wrench or socket wrench to get it fully seeded and fully tightened, and it will need to be torqued to specifications. The one and seven eighth inch ball does have wrench flats on it so it makes it a lot easier to achieve the proper torque specifications. Really, that's all there is to it, so it changes your two ball mount into a three ball mount. Now you have a two inch, two and five sixteenth inch, and a one and seven eighth inch ball, on your versa ball mount.That's gonna do it for today's look at the Gen Y bolt on, one and seven eighth inch, hitch ball..

Includes 3/4" x 4" bolt and washer for installation.I added this to my Gen-Y 2" Versa-Ball Mount. eTrailer's support said it required a 1 1/4" socket which isn't right, I asked Gen-Y Support before it arrived what size socket it would require to mount it, and they said 1 1/8" which turned out to be the correct size when it arrived. For those who ask what size bolt it is, I think you want the socket size.... it is in fact a 3/4" bolt, but the head\socket is a 1 1/8". Gen-Y support said to torque it to 225ftlb which is what I did.
Installation tip, torque it with the ball sideways rather than on top. It is easier to apply that much torque in a vertical (up and down) motion opposed to the side to side if you have the add-on ball up or down for mounting.

After a year of use, I still love this hitch.
I paired this with Item #19255 top and bottom on my tractor drawbar. Just have to flip the bar to change between balls. Saves a lot of time.
Heavy duty and fits on the stacked receiver giving me the additional option of a 1 7/8” ball hitch. With this ball and item number 325-GH-623 I have the option for a 1 7/8”, 1 3/4”, 2 1/16”, or a Pintle hook for my truck. Think I’m covered for any bumper pull trailer I’ll need to haul.
I had a project that included a high and low ball setup for a receiver hitch. This was the item I was looking for. Worked great.
I think this is the best and most versatile hitch set up yet.

The part did not fit my vehicle. When I inquired as to the return process, I was informed that I, as the customer, was responsible for paying the shipping, and they went on to tell me that the shipping would cost more than the part.
Shocked to see a company that does not provide return shipping to their customers. First time using this company, they will get no repeat business nor favorable reviews.

This ball is meant to only be used with Gen-Y adjustable ball mounts and cannot be used with standard ball mounts from other manufacturers. We do have a large ion of 1 and seven eights inch balls available.
