Changing your hitch ball size is as easy as pushing out the integrated pin.
No need to get out the heavy wrenches. Convert-A-Ball's interchangeable balls are equipped with integrated pins, making it easy to change out your hitch ball for one of another size.
To switch balls, simply push in the integrated pin (using a pen or your finger) to release and remove installed ball. Then just replace with different-size ball, reversing the process.

The hitch mount and ball look to be of high quality and exactly what I needed for my bumber mount. Being able to easily switch between ball sizes will save work and wear on both the hitch and vehicle . I will be using it this weekend.

Well made and well priced
Arrived quickly, but was missing the cotter pin, so I ended up buying a stainless steel cotter pin at the local home hardware store.
Have used these before and am well satisfied with the product. On the trailer end of the process, delighted with the selection of products- was able to get the 3/4" shank size ball hitch with no hassle. Other sources would have only the larger size shank. Service was excellent and fast shipping. Definitely going back for other products.
I had a earlier Chrome version. It used a 1" shank, hence the need for replacement. I chose stainless because the added cost will save time and trouble should the new nickel-plated version not last. These are the most secure convertibles, for the design is impervious to dislodgment (the worst that could happen is the pin riding against a coupling should it move, without allowing the trailer to disengage from the hitch). Two considerations: it would be nice to inform the customer that the attaching nut requires a 1 1/8" socket, and it would be better to machine a recess on the base to permit use of a wrench to hold it when the unit is being secured (as it requires 180 ft lbs to attach. Overall a superb product.
This is the second Convert-A-Ball set that I have purchased, to use with my wife's new SUV. It is handy to be able to switch between 1-7/8 and 2-inch balls without having to wrench off one ball to put on another, and it takes up far less room than having a drawbar for each size ball. This model has only a 3/4-inch shank and cannot mount a 2-5/8-inch ball for safety reasons. My wife's Subaru Forester has a roughly 2250lb tow limit, so not having the big ball is not an issue.
Both this unit and the one I obtained previously from eTrailer were the stainless steel versions. As we live in the northeast, road salt and salt water do take their toll.
This system is easy to use and saves a lot of space - I highly recommend it for anyone who uses a drop- or riser-type drawbar, or (in the case of my station wagon) a weight-distributing hitch, as it greatly increases your flexibility for towing different trailers at need. the balls swap quickly and fairly effortlessly. I find it worth the investment!
Love the covert a ball ball set! Bought a duck boat with different ball size than my jon boat. Only takes a few seconds to pop one ball off and put the other size on. Hit it with some WD40 now and again.

Great product if you get the stainless steel model. I have been using this product for around 30 years. The first one I had only lasted 10 years as I was not paying enough attention to is the ball got rusted to the shaft and I never got it off. The second one I got was stainless steel and it has been working as well today as 20 years when I bought. This one I bought for my trailer dolly as all the trailers I hook the dolly up to are not the same ball size
The convert-a-ball set and the storage container came promptly and well packed. This is not my first purchase from etrailers, their prices and product always impress me. I can't find a better price nor a better selection locally, even if I go all over town looking.
The main shank where the ball goes on needed a little cleaning where the pin goes through. The hole was left kind of rough on the inside. I cleaned it up a little without changing the size of the hole, just for piece of mind. I wasn't sure of what the rough edges and small fragments of metal would have on the pin during use, outside of that, I was impressed with the product and look forward to using it.
Use these balls on my ATV to pull trailers, wood chipper, leaf vac, etc around our property. Wonderful to just swap the balls with a pin rather than having to un-bolt and re-bolt another ball.
Wiring Harness, Hitch ball and lock all excellent and good quality. Installation was flawless. Will recommend to anyone looking for good value and timely response with questions about delivery and product.

Ordered this for my husband. He has to change the size of the hitch ball often between the boat trailer and the lawn tractor trailer. Works great and makes life a little simpler!
Had the steel version for years and ordered this one for my car because the older Convert-A-Ball was a 1" shank. Sold that vehicle but kept the Ball set. This new one being stainless will look good for years on the car!
