Inner tube fits most standard, round gooseneck coupler outer tubes.I ordered the Bulldog adapter because I believe their quality is good. The construction of the Bulldog hitch adapter was good. However, the 4” tube was not perfectly round, approximately.030 out of round. This shouldn’t have been an issue, but since my trailer is used and had a Temco hitch originally, the tube wouldn’t slip in. I chucked the Bulldog in the lathe and skimmed .030 of the diameter and it went right in. This review is not written to criticize Etrailer or Bulldog. Just be aware if you’re working with a different brand hitch other than what is listed, there is a possibility of fitment issues.
My expectation when I unboxed the unit was that it would be a brand new unit. This unit looks like it had been made up and peicemealed from random gooseneck parts. I am reluctant to use this unit because I am questioning the workmanship of the welds.
This product fit perfectly on my dump trailer. Excellent product.
Ordered on Friday afternoon and received the following Tuesday. Very simple installation. No longer have to crank the gooseneck up or down to connect to truck. Very satisfied with this product and the price was very reasonable.

Still loving it. Hook up is so much easier
Great product. Very well built. I am a farmer and use it to hook up a goose neck trailer to our semi. We use the trailer to haul hay, machinery, or even cattle. What's great about this product is that you can move it from trailer to trailer. This adapter will fit in a gooseneck trailer with the pin running through the side or with the bolts on the front. Overall great product for the farm.
I have ordered alot from etrailer and always been pleased , last week I ordered a 5th wheel conversion for my gooseneck trailer then went outside and literally cut my gooseneck hitch off , i then got a call from etrailer saying the part I ordered was backordered and was not available .while I was disappointed I was so glad called me immediately and was able to come up with a alternative . Great customer service ,I can not say enough great things about etrailer
Works great. Now I don’t have to use the tractor to pull the heavy B&W hitch with the pog system everytime I need to pull the gooseneck. I did have to drill the holes for the pin since the coupler was not a bulldog brand. Pulls better on the king pin than the gooseneck ball also.

Bought this so my wife could load and unload our 30' flatbed easier. The gooseneck required her to climb into the bed and was hard for her to line up. This adapter installed in less than 60 seconds and has made her new career as a hot shot driver that much more enjoyable. I couldn't be more happier.
The adapter is really well built. The welds are great and the raw material was easy to paint. The problem I encountered was the fourth and lowest adjustment hole could not be reached due to the four pieces of triangular support stock hitting my Big Tex trailer neck tube before the hole would line up for the pin. So I had to take my cutoff wheel and trim 1/2” off those four pieces of triangular support metal so the adapter would go up further in the neck and the pin could be inserted. I hate working on new equipment but it’s easier than returning it and losing time.
Worked perfect thought fitment might be an issue but it slid in perfect and gets the job done very satisfied especially considering the price would definitely recommend if switching from a gooseneck to a fifth wheel

Worked like a charm, haul for a living and slides right in every circle gooseneck hitch. Only recommendation for company for buyers is to clear coat it because when not in use it will surface rust with in a couple days. Otherwise affordable quality buy!

First trip the king pin was not welded properly and came off. I now have a damaged truck and trailer. I expect a full refund for the hitch. I also will be speaking with an attorney to see what my options are.

I bought a fifth wheel camper trailer and mounted a B&W Companion hitch onto the gooseneck hitch in the bed of my truck. It is such a pain to take in and out, so I bought one of these for my horse trailer to see how they work. They work great, so great in fact that I bought two more for my stock trailer and flatbed trailer. The only negative I have is that the holes in the sides of the pipe for bolts, pins, etc., are not located 90 degrees from the front of the hitch plate and therefore will not line up with the holes in most receivers on the trailers. They are apparently drilled before the plate is welded on, because none of the three I bought are in the same relationship to the front of the plate.

I love these adapters. They make it possible to use my truck's 5th wheel hitch for my rv trailer, stock trailer and flat bed trailer (plus, they are much easier to hook up than the gooseneck hitch was). I would recommend these adapters to anyone. Thank you for checking back with me. I am very pleased with the service your company has given me over the years.
Upon receiving the product the plate is welded to the tube is crooked. So when it's mounted it's looks bad.
This is the third adapter I have purchased from etrailer. One for my horse trailer, one for my dump trailer and now one for my equipment trailer. A little bit of time to paint and install and everything is fine. No more climbing in the pickup bed to hook and unhook, no chains to deal with. I prefer the 5th wheel to the ball gooseneck, much easier hook up when you can't see the ball in the bed of your truck. Quality is very good and they work. You won't find it cheaper anywhere else and they always ship quick.

Still doing what they are supposed to do and holding up very well. No complaints.
excellent product performs as needed . like it so well we just left it on trailer to only use with tractor.Would like to even look into changing pickup over to fifth wheel so it would be easier to hook up trailers with loads.The only issue I had was a small bead that was on the inside of trailer tube that hindered insertion of hitch.Would definitly do it again. We put it on flat bed gooseneck trailer to use with semi so it would free up pickup

This item is ONLY for Bull Dog tubes requiring a 15 degree offset. I did not know this until after putting it in my none Bull Dog tube (I have a Lippert chassis). Tested after installation and the offset was so pronounced that it caught on my receiver. Talked with manufacturer's technical expert, and he said that the industry standard is 15 degrees. Regardless, the adapter is expertly fabricated and of good strong steel. Just wish it worked for my trailer.
etrailer.com was very good trying to resolve my concern to point Donna spent a lot of time researching a solution for me. Ultimately I shipped back the adapter because it was not doable for me. We both learned a lot today about trailers and the limitations on Bull Dog adapters.

Ended up paying a welding shop to cut and welding it in place because it hung down too much on the lowest setting putting stress on rear axle. Fixed the receiver plate 15 degree offset by cutting the plate off the tube removing the 15 degrees. Glad the Bull Dog was a raw product which allowed modification. Spent an extra $150 in mods to get what I needed.
The bulldog gooseneck to 5th wheel adapter has saved me time. It make leaving the 5th wheel in my truck a reality. Now my travel trailer and equipment trailers are all 5th wheel connections. Back under to connect, simple. They tow smoothly with less jerking. It is bare metal, so paint to match.

A year later, painting the bulldog adapter was a wise choice. No rust has formed because I primed and applied a topcoat black finish of rust inhibiting paint. Ease of use, speedy trailer connection, and the stability the fifth wheel brings to my towing is unmatched. Highly recommend this for anyone interested in fifth wheel towing. The gooseneck connection in my truck bed hasn’t been used since I change the trailer connector and it’s been wonderful.
The product is heavy duty as expected and the welds are excellent. The pipe/tube fit my gooseneck receiver perfectly. The only disappoint was that the drilled holes for the securing the unit to the neck of my trailer were drilled out of alignment with the neck of my trailer and this caused the base plate to sit off center with the fifth wheel hitch when connected to my truck. Fortunately I'm still able to use the unit, it just looks wacky.
This does exactly what it says it does...lets you use your gooseneck trailer with a 5th wheel hitch. I have not converted all my gooseneck trailers with one of these. The only thing I would be able to complain about is that the holes in the side are not square with the flat plate which holds the hitch pin.
Very heavy duty hitch. Installation was a breeze. Took maybe 5 minutes. The only complaints that I have is A.) you have to paint it and B.) the square plate was welded onto the tube crooked. No big deal it won't affect the function it just looks odd. Don't get me wrong I would definitely buy this again. Now I don't have to take out my 5th wheel hitch to use my gooseneck trailer.

I reached out to my contact at Bulldog and sent him the photos of your coupler adapter. Based on the photos, my contact confirmed that this coupler is per their prints for the product. This coupler has a raw finish so that the end user can paint it to match the trailer. Because there is no paint or primer on the coupler, surface rust can occur and would need to be cleaned off before painting.
