I was recommended this drop hitch by an etrailer employee (to use with a trailer that I completely refurbished, with parts almost exclusively from etrailer.com), and have been using it for a year now. It has been absolutely fantastic, and just what I needed. I am always confident that I'm using a quality product to tow my trailer with, which is imperative when my fur babies are along for the ride! My only complaint, is that the hitch does not come with a square cap to prevent water from sitting within the tubing of the hitch - it's cheap and not hard to find, but would be nice to accompany the hitch at the time of purchase.

I recently had an after market trailer hitch put on my car. When this was completed, the hitch was very low due to the necessity to clear a muffler. So I got on the internet for a solution and found the Reese Adjustable Ball Mount. I tried it on and it was perfect for my application. I particularly like the idea than I can do some up and down adjustment for different trailers. eTrailer was very responsive to my needs and quickly got my new mount to me. I could not have asked for anything more.

It is working out splendidly in the application I purchased it for. That is the pulling of a light trailer on which I haul such as cut and split firewood and a riding lawn tractor.

by:

I used this drop hitch on my RV to connect a car Tow Dolly so that the Dolly would attach parallel to the ground. I drove the RV for over 6,000 miles towing the car with no issues. The hitch worked great. I will use it again next trip.

  • Recommended 6" Rise Ball Mount With 6" Clearance Between Hitch Pin Hole and Ball Mount
We have exactly what you need. I recommend the Reese Adjustable Ball Mount - 5,000 lb # RP21141 which will fit the 2" trailer hitch receiver on your 2016 Acura RDX and measures 6" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the ball mount so it will clear the bumper on your vehicle. The # RP21141 has a 1" diameter hitch ball hole so you will need 1-7/8" hitch ball # C40002, 2" hitch ball # 40038, or 2-5/16" hitch ball # C40007 to match the coupler of the trailer you plan...

  • Recommended Solution for Ball Mount with Multiple Hitch Balls and 7" Drop That Won't Drag
The 2" hitch ball on the B&W Tow and Stow # BWTS10049B is on the left hand side and not on the top, so as you've noted it might potentially drag the 2-5/16" ball when towing in that orientation. With that said, typically you'll have at least 12" of coupler height to tow level and the hitch ball will only extend down about 3-1/2", so you would still have at least 8-1/2" of clearance from the ground which in most cases should leave you safe. This would be the best solution we have available...

  • Will Reese Adjustable Ball Mount # RP21141 Fit a 2011 Chevy Suburban
The Reese adjustable ball mount, # RP21141, is designed to fit 2 inch trailer hitch receivers. Provided that your 2011 Chevy Suburban has a 2 inch receiver, this ball mount will fit. I spoke with my contact at Reese for some measurements and the center of the hitch pin hole is 6 inches back from the support gusset forward on the ball mount. I have included a picture to show this measurement and others.

  • Can A Reese Adjustable Ball Mount Be Used in Both the Rise and Drop Position
Yes, adjustable ball mounts like the Reese you have or # RP21141 can be used in either rise or drop position to get the correct ball height. This ball mount has a maximum rise of 6-1/4 inches and a maximum drop of 7-1/2 inches but is not rated high enough for an 11,000 pound trailer. Curt ball mount # C45900 has a max rise of 5 inches and max drop of 6 inches and is rated for 14,000 pounds.

  • Replacement Hitch Ball Platform for Reese Adjustable Ball Mount
The Reese Adjustable Ball Mount - 5,000 lb # RP21141 does not offer the parts as separate pieces for purchase. You will need to purchase the entire ball mount. If you want a more cost efficient alternative that is also rated for 5,000 lbs, I recommend the MaxxTow Adjustable-Height Ball Mount # MT70068.

  • Minimum and Maximum Drop of the Reese Adjustable Ball Mount # RP21141
The holes of the ball mount portion of the # RP21141 are spaced 1-1/2 inches apart and there are 4 holes. So if the max drop is 7-1/2 inches in the lowest position the minimum drop would be 3 inches.

  • Recommended Extended Ball Mount or Hitch Extender for Towing Boat Trailer
For your 2018 Tahoe and boat trailer needing a longer extension between them I recommend the Brophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 13-1/4" Long - 10,000 lbs # BM20. Having a longer ball mount like this will not reduce the capacity of your hitch at all. This will give you a length of 13-1/4 inches from the center of the ball to the hitch pin hole. For a compatible hitch ball the shank needs to be 1 inch diameter for this mount. I recommend the 2 inch ball # 40038 or...

The MasterLock 2841AT has been discontinued. For a similar ball mount, you may be interested in the MaxxTow Adjustable-Height Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 7-1/2" Drop, 6-1/4" Rise - 5,000 lb, # MT70068, or the Reese Adjustable Ball Mount - 5,000 lb which includes the pin and clip, # RP21141. • Recommended Ball Mount With 7 Inches of Rise for a 2012 Hyundai Sante Fe
The Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 2793 does have the needed 7 inches of rise, but from the center of the pin hole to the closest edge of the upright gusset is only 3 3/4 inches, so I don't think it will work with your vehicle, unfortunately. That being said, we do have a couple other options available for you. The Brophy # EA80 has the needed 7 inches of rise, but at the closest point it is 4 1/8 inches to the center of the pin hole. This does rise pretty quickly and may still work for you, but...

  • How to Pick Out the Correct Rise Ball Mount for a 2007 Volvo XC90 towing a Boat Trailer
I attached an FAQ on determining the correct rise/drop ball mount for you to check out, but it sounds like you have determined that you need a ball mount with a 3 inch rise. Check out the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 4281, when used in the rise position this ball mount will give you 3 inches of rise. What hitch do you have? Thule does not make hitches for vehicles so I am wondering if you meant to type Valley. The reason I ask is that because all of the hitches we offer for your vehicle recommend...
