Can I Install Trailer Hitch Upside Down on 1972 Dodge Full Size Pickup
Question:
Can I install the truck receiver hitch up side down on my truck frame safely? It allows me upward additional clearance for offroading is why.And bothmy trailers are spring over axle and tall.I have inverted itfor test fit and bolt holes align.

We have several trailer hitches that are a confirmed fit for your 1972 Dodge Full Size Pickup. I have included a link to all of the trailer hitches that are a confirmed fit.
The B & W trailer hitch, part # BWHDRH25122, is the only hitch that does not require drilling for installation. I spoke with my contact at B & W and he said they do not recommend their hitches be installed upside down because they are not designed and tested that way.
An adjustable ball mount, like # RP21141, could also give your increased clearance when towing off-road.
