It is a Receiver!

by:

The box it was shipped in had a hole in it, so the mount slipped out of the box when it was delivered. There was some minor paint damage from that, but the mount itself seems fine.

by:

Exactly what I needed. Great product. I have purchased several items from etrailer and have always been 100% satisfied!

by:

The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the lack of a ball flange nut indentation on both sides. I used this mount upside down to get my ball out and away from the bumper on my car. I had to use a pipe wrench on the ball flange to hold it while I tightened the nut on the other side. As you can imaging the wrench gouged the ball flange and the ball mount. This would not have happened if the ball mount had an inset for holding the hex flange of the ball. I could have just used a wrench on the nut and not had to hold the ball stationary while doing so. Improve this product please. No one likes gouges on their ball flange or ball mount.

good product for my needs on Polaris Ranger 500, excellent service and product choices as usual from etrailer.com and arrived early.

still working great for my needs.

by:

I needed a minimum 7-inch drop for pulling a trailer behind my 2013 Suburban.
This ball mount works great and I couldn't find this size at any of the stores I looked at locally.

by:

Great service

by:

Not much to say, it's a ball mount. Curt makes quality stuff. Etrailer.com makes is easy to choose with a quick tutorial on mounts and sizes. Helped me tremendously because of my Jeep Wrangler Four Door having a 4" lift kit and monster tires. I would purchase from them again and again!

by:

looks like a good product and will fill my needs. Packaging and shipping could be improved. This is a steel unit and not enough shock absorbency was allow for. When package arrived hitch had poked through the side of the box. You need heavier boxes or more stabilizing packing when shipping these heavy products.

by:

Gave me the right lift to tow a small utility trailer with my wife's Murano. Received the hitch in just a few days with the appropriate 2" ball. Both products look to be of high quality. Couldn't be happier.

by:

It.s too big for the receiver! It measures 2.030" and won't go in. I'm hoping to be able to grind off enough with my belt sander to make it work. If not it'll end up in the trash.

If your receiver tube is outside of the small end of tolerance, it could cause fit problems. It is acceptable to remove the finish of the ball mount via sanding, but using a grinder on it is not recommended as the heat build-up could have a negative effect on the composition of the steel the ballmount is constructed of.

by:

Will buy again.

I called the customer
service line to ask questions about fitment and confirm I will receive the right products (ball mount, ball, and lock). They were EXCELLENT and if they weren't sure, they did the right research to confirm. Definitely worth buying from them.

Used on 2014 ford escape Titanium Hitch is Draw tite Item # 75758
This ball mount was perfect for leveling my trailer.

etrailer is A+ service.

by:

Much more rugged than expected, superb quality

1 year later still very happy with the with product. I have had no problems with it. Reminds me, I need to buy a break controller from you guys ASAP.

Product worked great

by:

I'm a bargain shopper...I scour the net to find the absolute best price on anything I need. I bought a hitch from here that wasn't what I needed, I was bummed (totally my mistake on the order), but the folks at etrailer.com got a return simplified for me, found what I needed with a quick phone call, and you simply won't find a better group of people to do business with!

by:

Was exactly what we needed. I had some initial doubts that it would be too far a drop but the lady I spoke with was spot on. It put our tow dolly in the exact perfect position!!

by:

This product is pretty much straight forward. I received it quickly, and the quality is excellent! The welds are clean and continuous. I needed it as a rise to increase the launch ability, of my boat, without going to far out of level. It will serve me well. Curt products have been great for me.

by:

Very high quality looking hitch. Very happy with everything I've ordered from etrailer!

by:

Excellent Ball Mount For 2020 Ford Ranger. Fast Shipping

by:

This is a great quality product for a very fair price. I recently made my first purchases with etrailer, and am most impressed with their customer service. This is a well run company!

by:

Once again etrailer doesn’t disappoint. The drop is the perfect size and was unavailable anywhere else I looked.

by:

Heavy duty hitch. Fills the need. Service and price were great.

by:

Item arrived as represented. George J upgraded shipping so it arrived earlier. Not my first order with etrailer and won't be my last.

  • What is the Actual Drop of the Curt Ball Mount C45100
We recently went and measured the Curt ball mount part # C45100 and the drop is 7-1/2 inches and rise is 6-1/4 inches. If you check out the review video I attached you can see our demo guy measure the drop at the 1:47 mark.

  • Is it Safe to Use Ball Mount With 6-1/2 Inch Rise on 2003 Honda Odyssey
It is perfectly safe to use a ball mount like the # C45100 you were looking at with your 2003 Honda Odyssey. This ball mount has a gross towing weight of 3,500 lbs in the 6-1/4" rise position so it works for any trailer as long as it does not exceed 3,500 lbs. Like your vehicle, it is fine to tow something below the maximum capacity. It is only unsafe if you exceed that capacity.

The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole of the Curt Ball Mount part # C45100 that you referenced to the weld gusset is 4-1/2 inches. I went out into our warehouse and pulled one to get this measurement.

  • Availability of Ball Mount For 2 Receiver That Has 6 Of Rise
We have exactly what you are looking for. The Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # C45100 you were looking at is the only fixed ball mount with close to 6" of rise, as this ball mount has 6-1/4" rise which is virtually the same and will work perfectly for you. I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.

  • How to Pick Out the Correct Rise Drop Ball Mount to Tow a Trailer Level
I got all of the pictures you submitted and attached them to this page. However, I am still a little unsure of what you are looking for. The best recommendation I can make for you would be to check out the link I attached that details how to pick out the correct rise/drop ball mount you need to tow your trailer level. It's kind of hard to tell, but it looks like your current ball mount is a 7 inch drop ball mount which would be similar to the # C45100.

  • Distance From Hitch Pin Hole To End Of Shank On Ball Mount For 2-Inch Hitch On 2004 Lexus LX 470
I went to our warehouse and took a measurement of this ball mount for you. The Curt Ball Mount, part # C45100 has a 6-1/4 inch rise or 7-1/2 inch drop and the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the shank that inserts in your trailer hitch receiver is 2-1/2 inches. On some vehicles you can loosen the spare a little and shift it away form the receiver. I am not sure if you can do that with your LX 470, but it may be worth checking out. If you can, then it may...

  • Can Hitch or Ball Mount Be Drilled for Additional Hitch Pin Hole
Ball mounts like the Curt # C45100 are available in various lengths. This one happens to be 13-inches long, longer than some. Longer ball mounts are needed, for example, in cases of a truck having a slide in camper in the bed, or when using a towing-style bike rack. You do not want to drill your hitch or your ball mount as this will void the product warranty. A slightly longer ball mount poses no issues for your towing application.

  • Recommendation On A Ball Mount That Can Fix Unlevel Towing
Determining the proper rise and drop needed for a ball mount can be done with two measurements and a little math. On a level surface, first measure from the top edge of your receiver opening to the ground to get your hitch height. Then, measure from the bottom of the trailer coupler to the ground to get the trailer hitch height. The difference between these two numbers will be the amount of rise and drop you will need for your vehicle and trailer. I have linked help article that explains...

  • 6 inch Rise Ball Mount Recommendation for 2017 Honda Odyssey with Draw Tite Hitch
The Draw Tite hitch you have part # 75270 has 7 inches from the center of it's pin hole to the outside of the bumper on your 2017 Honda Odyssey. For a 6 inch rise ball mount that would be perfect for you we have the Curt # C45100 which has 6-1/4 inches of rise and has more than enough length to clear your bumper. For a 2 inch ball to go with this we have the # 63845.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for 7 inches of Drop
For a 7 inch drop ball mount the closest and best option will be the part # C45100. This is a 7-1/2 inch drop that would get you close enough to level to have the trailer towed safely. It's better to be a tiny bit to nose-down than nose-up as it's commonly the nose-up situations that cause sway. For a 2 inch ball you would need part # 63845 or for a 2-5/16 inch ball the part # 63847.

Using a 6 inch rise ball mount does not cause any safety issues. If anything using the correct rise ball mount allows you to prevent the biggest safety issue which is towing an unlevel trailer. The Curt ball mount part # C45100 would work well for you as it has a 6-1/4 inch rise. For a 2 inch ball we have the part # 63845 and then for a 2-5/16 inch ball we have the part # 63847.

  • Selecting Ball Mount to Allow Trailer to Remain Level When Hitched to 2012 Honda Odyssey
Passenger vans like the Honda Odyssey do sit fairly low to start with, and once you bolt on a hitch receiver and load some passengers and cargo, the bottom of that hitch tube can be pretty close to the ground. When we installed Draw-Tite hitch # 75270 on your vehicle we found that the hitch pin hole was 6-inches forward of the rear edge of the bumper cover. We also noted that the top of the receiver tube opening was 11-1/2-inches above ground level. This means the bottom on the hitch...

Best option will be to use the Bike Rack Bunk part # CC-275 which attaches to the A-frame of the trailer and allows a bike rack to install above it. This will then allow you to use a 6 inch rise ball mount we have the part # C45100 and then for a 2 inch ball # 63845 would be what you want. In regards to the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13382 which is a fit for a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, the distance from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube opening is 15". Therefore, if the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler (while level) is 21" then you need a ball mount with a 6" rise. This is a really great question! So ideally you have the trailer sitting as level as possible when you are towing. So that means that if your vehicle suspension is going to sag with the tongue weight of your trailer on the ball mount you'd want to compensate for that with the amount of rise/drop ball mount you select.
