Can A Reese Adjustable Ball Mount Be Used in Both the Rise and Drop Position
Question:
I have a reese hitch with an adjustable 6 hole ball mount. It is currently installed with the holes upwards and Im using the bottom holes...can I safely flip the ball mount? I need to go down lower? I tow a 32 trailer weighing 11000 lbs. Thanks!

Yes, adjustable ball mounts like the Reese you have or # RP21141 can be used in either rise or drop position to get the correct ball height. This ball mount has a maximum rise of 6-1/4 inches and a maximum drop of 7-1/2 inches but is not rated high enough for an 11,000 pound trailer. Curt ball mount # C45900 has a max rise of 5 inches and max drop of 6 inches and is rated for 14,000 pounds.
