Dimensions of roller-style guide-on

Adjustable boat guides can be fine-tuned to work with your boat and your trailer. The galvanized steel support posts mount horizontally on top of or below your trailer's frame rail. Just slide the posts into the boat guide supports and secure the posts so that the distance between the rollers correctly matches the width of your boat. The rubber roller guides help to center your boat during loading and to hold the boat during transport.

Galvanized Steel

Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

Always easy to find what you're looking for and order on etrailer.com. The best communication ever with follow up emails notifying you the item(s) has shipped and confirming you received. Thanks for this approach and being the service oriented company you are.

by:

good quality, no sharp edges easy to install , I couldn't wait to get home to put them on ,they look good , I just ordered some lights to put on them ,So I am waiting to get them before I put the caps on top of the tubing

by:

Product looks great can’t wait to receive the extra log U-bolts to install them.
Only problem is it would have been nice to have an option to order a complete kit that fits a 5” frame. Kinda lame having to pay over thirty$ on 4 u-bolts (that don’t come with nuts and washers) seemed a little ridiculous.

by:

Received it this morning and already installed it it was about a 20 minute job

@Walter That's great to hear, thanks!

by:

Was not able to guide a 18’ I/O boat, was not strong enough.

by:

These rollers are awesome! The perfect solution to my problem. I have a 16' Gheenoe and there was an issue loading my boat. As I am a paralyzed vet trying to load the boat by myself from a wheelchair on the ramp. There was too much room from the rear guides to the front of the trailer in which the boat could drift left or right before I got it positioned.
These rollers help guide her on and keep it going straight. I can now load/unload like a pro. Now if only etrailer could help me catch fish.....

by:

These guides are heavy duty and really nice! The U Bolts are also heavy duty and hold the guides rock solid on my Tee Nee Trailers 1 1/2"x 3 1/2" frame! I really wanted roller guides taller than 15", but found they really measure 21" from the botttom of the guide to the top of the roller! Mounted mine on top of the frame for an extra 1 1/2" of height giving me 21". Very happy and so glad I found your website! Thank you etrailer.com! I will be back!

by:

Haven't installed yet but looks good.

by:

Hardware is zinc plated. Salt water will rust it up in no time

by:

Have mounted the rollers on the trailer of our 14’ aluminum runabout’s trailer and am looking forward to a dramatically improved launch and recover opportunity when we next use the boat(wind or no wind). Should have installed these years ago.

by:

Good product. Makes it easier to get boat aligned straight on trailer. Very good instructions on installation and the video helps a lot!

The roller guide-ons have worked well for my boat. They make it easier to keep the boat straight on the trailer, which still can be a challenge especially on windy days.

by:

I need to fit this product to my 1960 vintage Holsclaw trailer. I had ordered the longer guide units but found they wouldn't work because of the style of the trailer and having to center the keel of the boat to the main beam roller at the back. Since they extend above the gunnel of the boat and the gunnel being wider at the front of the boat then at the transom, proper alignment to the center beam roller was impossible. I needed a guide that positioned on the spray rail rather than the gunnel. I think this roller will work perfectly once I locate the boat back a few inches on the trailer. Thanks for all your help. I think I will be able to load my boat alone.

by:

I have used this before and they work great so I got them for my new boat. Working with etrailer.com has also been a great experience - good price and quick shipping.

by:

Perfect fit to replace existing roller

Still on the job and working nicely

by:

Fast shipping.

by:

Love them. Makes loading a boat by myself very easy. I have confidence that loading at the ramp in any weather will be a snap.

by:

Purchased one and it worked but due to a limited 4” roller width needed a second roller to improve alignment for my aluminum boat on windy days. Have mounted all rollers but have not tested yet.

by:

Worked great. Recommend

by:

On the trailer and ready to go, Thanks for the speedy delivery

by:

just installed but havent tested yet. pretty stout rollers and should help fight back against the tides here in florida. cant wait for maiden voyage!!!

by:

Got them put on my trailer, they look good and stick up about 8" higher than my side bunk boards which will make loading in waves/wind MUCH easier. I mounted mine on top the trailer rails.

by:

These roller guides were very easy to work with and easy to install. I have already had a friend that wants to get a pair of them and mine were not even installed yet.

by:

We installed them the day we received them not sure what to expect, but we were excited. We took out the boat the following weekend, when it was time to load up our boat we got ready. My wife, with minimal experience, was in charge of the task. She lined it up and voila, easy with no problem at all. We definitely recommend these roller guide-ons.

After a year of having our guides they have worked great. It makes loading up our boat very easy, every time. We have our daughters loading up the boat now and they are doing it with out a problem.

  • Possible Guide Upgrade for CE Smith 65" Guide Ons To Prevent Bending
The guide 65” poles/markers on the CE Smith # CE27637 Guide Ons are only meant as markers to show you where the trailer is. While they can endure some pressure in relation to a straight on approach, off angle pressure which can occur with water currents, high wind, and off angle approaches, can cause damage to the guide poles and/or brackets. The leverage exerted by the long poles can cause the poles or brackets to bend. In a way this is good as that much leverage would otherwise bend...

The Replacement Upright # CE27609PG-1 that you referenced does have the square holes on the back of the upright portion of the bracket to allow carriage bolts to run through them and attach the rollers of the # CE27610. Our product pictures for the upright don't show the angle where you would be able to see the holes but they are there.

  • Guide-Ons for a Pontoon Boat and Trailer
We have a couple of great options for pontoon boat guide-ons. First, if you want to go with a roller-style we have # CE27672. The rubber rollers are designed so that they won't scratch the boat. If you like the bunk style we have # CE27671. The bunks on this set will have a bit more surface area than the rollers but eventually would will need to replace the carpet on the bunks. • Correct Roller Shaft for CE Smith Side Guide Roller for Boat Trailers
The reason that you are having difficulty finding a roller shaft for the CE Smith Side Guide Roller # CE29562 is because it is the replacement middle roller for the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons # CE27610. For this application you would use something like the 12-3/4" x 1/2" # CE10705A because there needs to be some extra length for the end pieces. If you are needing a standard roller then I recommend the Yates Keel Roller # YR10000 which is 10" long and works great with the 11" x 5/8"...

  • How Close to the Boat Should CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons Be to a Boat on a Trailer
You will want the boat to be close to touching the rollers on the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons # CE27610. Since the guide-ons are not meant to support weight you will want to place them so that they are fairly close to the boat but not too far. This is because the guide-ons are meant to help you line up the boat with the trailer better than if they weren't present. If the guide-ons are too far apart it gets harder to determine where the center point between them is. Other than that there...

  • Pontoon Boat Length vs. Pontoon Trailer Length
It is recommended that a pontoon boat trailer be 3 to 4 feet longer than the pontoon boat it carries. So a 20-foot pontoon boat should be transported on a trailer with 23- to 24-foot bunk boards to avoid the pontoon tube hitting the back of the tow vehicle in a tight turn. We offer bunk-style guides in various sizes and these appear on the linked page. We also offer bunk boards in several lengths that come already wrapped in marine carpet, such as 6-foot pair # CE27840 and 7-foot pair...
