Guide-on posts make it easy to load your boat onto your trailer and back your trailer down the ramp. They attach with U-bolts to the rear of your trailer and extend out of the water, providing visual targets to center the boat between during loading.

Guide Your Boat Into and Out of the Water with Ease
When your boat trailer has been backed down the ramp and is partially submerged, these 75-inch-tall guideposts that are mounted on the rear corners of the frame will stick out of the water, giving you two highly visible targets to guide your boat between for loading. The PVC posts also provide a visual aid to help you back your boat trailer down the ramp when you're unloading and loading your boat.
Installation
The posts are simple to install. Slide the PVC posts over the galvanized steel support posts. Then use the included U-bolt hardware to mount the posts on the top or below the trailer frame, as close to the rear corners as possible. Adjust the posts so that the distance between each post and your boat is less than 1 inch.
Pre-Galvanized Steel
Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating (less than 1 mm) and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so it's recommended that they be primed and painted.

Product is not as pictured. It's a bent tube, not corner brackets as indicated. I really needed corner brackets to make it work for my application. Unfortunately my teenage son was very helpful and installed it before I got home so I'm stuck with it as is. It will most likely fail for my application.

It was as I suspected in that we had old and new stock together. We do have a set with the square brackets that we can send. Do you want a replacement sent out? We would also send you a label via email to have the old style returned.

Metal posts could be more stable. CE SMITH should weld on a 45* bracket to stabilize the metal post to prevent them from bending. My previous boat guides had them but unfortunately couldn't find them taller as I've upgraded to a bigger boat. During windy conditions, my boat drifts right. No matter how slow I load the boat, the middle touches the guides and bends them out. I have 1/8 of an inch between the gunnel and the posts. After loading I have almost 3 inches due to the posts bending. I would need to bend the posts back into position after launching so the boat will sit center on the trailer when retrieving. In addition, the metal posts that came with the kit isn't as advertised. It does the job

This is the best money I have spent on our boat in a long time. I have a heavy 24' aluminum fishing boat that is not easy to get on the trailer and line up correctly. Now it is a breeze to line up in any current or wind situation and it sits on the trailer perfectly. I am recommending these to all my boating friends.

My guide ons showed right on time . I installed them in under 30 minutes. Really easy instructions. super strong . I got the 75” ones because of the launch we go off of is really steep at low tide .

The box arrived torn up, but everything seemed to be in it. The installation was straightforward, I was worried about the strength of the materials, for heavy duty seemed very lightweight. My fears realized, floating the pontoon off the trailer with a 9 mph side wind did irreparable damage to the guides (engine wasn't used). Very disappointed with the construction and at a high price. This was just junky design and material, an expensive lesson.

Just installed the trailer guides. My galvanized trailer has an odd slant vs a horizontal frame member in the back so i honked down on the U bolts as hard as i could. Its firm and secure but i may cut, drill, thriugh bolt the uprights to my trailer frame, the skirt around the step. If anyone is wondering, the galvanized tubing is top notch material. Durable for sure.

Seems to be a sturdy product. The PVC tubes were not clean. It appears the galvanized coating on the metal parts transferred to the white PVC tubes. Does not look very good. But the product should perform as advertised.

Excellent product and fits well as am using on my Sunstream Floatlift boat lift. There should have at least been some packing material to avoid damage and majour scratching to the PVC extenders by the L shaped metal standards......

The Box arrived damaged and stained the product inside was okay with the exception of the PVC pipe. It is scratched and scored deep into the pipe. It has black marks on it as if it has been used already. Take note that the 75" height is not all metal it is only 40" of metal up the side the rest is PVC that slides over the top so you have 35" of PVC and 40" of metal. I sent these concerns to customer service the minute I opened the package and nobody responded back just a link for this feedback so this is what you get. We will see how it holds up on the water and on the road doesn't look like it can take more than a couple hits kind of expensive for a piece of metal and PVC pipe. Tried to upload photos can't even do that it won't let me. I will say that installation was a breeze I had it done in about 20 minutes so there is one positive which is also why I bought it.

Super easy to install. We have had them for over a year and we love them. Very stable and secure. We originally bought them for our pontoon boat and when we traded it for a fishing boat we wanted to keep our load guides. My husband was able to easily modify them by cutting them shorter and putting the cap back on. It’s so nice to load the boat and know it is sitting perfectly on the trailer. Can’t say enough good things about the product!

The mounting hardware for the trailer guides does not match my trailer frame very well and would always bend over if only slightly rubbing against the guides while loading on the trailer. I had to construct some blocks to mount next to the trailer frame to keep the mounting brackets from twisting over. The first season of owning the guides did not work very well at all. After installing my mods, the second season seems to be working better and the guides are more rigid and durable.

product as advertised. excellent customer service/quick delivery. however.....MEASURE your trailer beam support where you are going to attatch....I have a twin axle trailer for a 26 foot deck boat. the frame beams are 8 inches (3" by 8"). That said, the u-bolts were not long enough. I contacted the company and the longest ubolts available from them were 6 inches. the ones included in the product are less than that. I had to special order 4 flat u-bolts from another company at the cost of $xx. (3" by 8 1/4" by 3/8" u-bolts). they have not yet arrived so I am hoping this will solve the problem. I suggest company add longer u-bolts to the options.

I own a 24' Montery M45 OB and my trailer came without guides. Upon loading my boat while in the water the rear would sway and of delay my loading. After visiting etrailer.com and learning about the CE Smith Guides I purchased these. Perfect !

Love my guide posts for my trailer. I have a 24' Sea Ray and these guide post made it possible to launch and retrieve the boat by myself with assurance that the boat is sitting on the trailer correctly. As an added bonus they are visible to me as I am backing up the empty trailer when it would normally go out of sight with steep launch ramps. Making retrieving the boat so easy.
