Recommended Guide-Ons For a John Boat Trailer When Loading and Unloading In Strong River Currents
Question:
I am loading a boat in river current and it is pushing my boat over the guide ons. Is this sturdy enough to hold a john boat being pushed by the current?

Helpful Expert Reply:
I recommend using the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons # CE27610 for loading and unloading your john boat in a river current. These will allow the boat to more easily glide along the roller than it would on the Post-Style Guide-Ons # CE27620 you found. The post is made of PVC which can break if hit hard enough while the rollers are made from rubber and will absorb some of the shock if ran into.
