CE Smith Boat Trailer Parts - CE27670

These guide-on posts make it easy to load your pontoon boat onto your trailer. They attach to the rear of your trailer and extend out of the water, providing a visual target to center the boat's pontoons around. Mounting hardware included.

Features:

  • Guideposts help you to center your pontoon boat as you load it onto your trailer
    • Extend out of the water to provide a visual target to center pontoons around
  • 1-1/2" Diameter, 16-gauge, pre-galvanized steel tubes are covered with 2" PVC piping for strength and durability
  • Install easily on rear crossmember of trailer frame with included hardware - no drilling required
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Quantity: 2 pontoon boat guide-ons
  • Application: trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall
    • 2 Extra-long U-bolt kits (CE11416; sold separately) are required for mounting on frames up to 3" wide x 5-1/4" tall
  • Post height: 22"

Note: Check with your state Department of Transportation for restrictions regarding maximum trailer width.

When your boat trailer has been backed down the ramp and is partially submerged, these 22" tall guideposts that are mounted at the rear corners of the frame will stick out of the water, giving you two highly visible targets to guide your boat between for loading. The galvanized steel support posts mount horizontally on top of or below your trailer's frame rail. Just slide the posts into the boat guide supports and secure the posts so that the distance between the bunks correctly matches the width of your boat.

Pre-Galvanized Steel

Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of the pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating less than 1 mm and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so its recommended that they be primed and painted.

Hello George, I receive the package. I am happy with it. I would like to bring to your attention a discrepancy between that packaging and the instructions. The first bullet on the outside of the box indicates to mount the post 2 to 3 inches from the pontoon. The directions inside indicates it to be installed less than 2 inches. I have attached some pictures for you to share with your supplier.

I am sorry that this was confusing, Keith. I have sent this information over to CE Smith for them to adjust the instructions that come with the product.

The C E Smith post style guide-ons for my pontoon boats trailer were easy to install. My trailer has 5 3" C channel cross members. I installed the guide-ons on the 2nd an 4th cross members about 1 inch inside the pontoons.

by:

It was always a hassle loading our tritoon without these guides, worked excellent the first time we loaded with them. They lined the toons up to the bunks on the trailer the first try!! I ordered these on a Wednesday and received on Friday.

by:

I am very pleased with this product. These guides are really nice, well made, went on easy, and saved a ton of time. I used a slightly longer PVC pipe on the rear guides to help see them when the trailer was submerged. They're now 28" vs 22". Probably not necessary but I tend to overdo things. etrailer is now saved on my favorites for future needs.

I ordered Two Sets for my Trailer the trailer is 24' long found that putting one set on the second cross member back, and one set on the third cross member from the back of the trailer. works fool proof for me. No accidental drive off. Very pleased with ths great product

by:

This made putting my pontoon boat back on the trailer a dream!

by:

Great product. I bought two sets. Shipment was extremely fastttttt. I glued the PVC cap on and ran a stainless steel self tapper on the inside of the PVC so they don't blow off when trailering unloaded even though Anna @etrailer said they SHOULD NOT...........I don't like the word SHOULD!!!

Great service

Bought two sets for my pontoon/trailer. Work well. I did put longer PVC on the rear post so I could see them on approach. Strong enough to hold in wind. I did make the mistake of driving up on one and bent it over. Was unable to "bend" it back, just went by a muffler shop and they were able to fix my error. Would buy again and suggest where there is low wind and no current. For stronger, I would go with full length system to insure no "misses".
Good product....good value.

by:

Prompt delivery and a breeze to install. Glad I bought these!

by:

Just what I was looking for to aid our boat launching.
Easy to install.
Price is right.
Would like to see plastic closures for the open end of the frame.
DNR is all about weed transfer and small openings should be closed up.

by:

It will be real handy putting my boat on the trailer

by:

Best addition I've made to my boat! Makes trailering the boat extremely easy when time to leave the water. My wife struggled to load the boat, but now does it with ease. Highly reccomend these guide ons.

A year later and this product still rocks!! Very awesome!

by:

the guides were lighter gauge than I imagined and a 25 ft. tritune boat is heavy enough that bends the guides when loading the boat in the wind.
good quality but for my application, too light.

We do have another guide on that is a galvanized steel. It is part # FBGR200101.

Still a great product like the way the pontoon hits the guide and straightens itself out

by:

Installed these yesterday, used them for the first time today. Easy to install, worked as advertised. I usually have trouble with the rear of my boat not being centered on the bunks coming out of the ramp due to back end still floating. These guides kept everything lined up till the weight was on the trailer. I installed mine one inch off from log width. I did extend the pvc tubes to 30" per an earlier review I read. This kept them just visible above the water surface at the ramp I use.

by:

Purchased this item to use on my pontoon trailer when removing in the late fall. All hardware works as described...only issue are the pvc tubes that are provided: way too short. Backed the trailer down the loading ramp and the miniscule tubes disappeared under the water kind of negating the reason for buying this thing in the first place. Went to Lowes and bought a 6' length of pvc, cut it to the correct height to fit under the pontoon and all is good. Manufacturer: maybe have your ppl measure the undercarriage of a pontoon to get functional clearance on these pvc pieces? Just a thought.

The picture shown above has the bracket mounted backwards from the instructions in the package. The package instructions have the bracket facing inboard (not outboard as shown in your picture).

Hi Alexander, hopefully the instructions didnt cause too much trouble. The instructions are mainly a guide for attaching the guide-on post to the trailer frame. Whether the post is situated facing outboard or inboard is up to you, so you can mount it in whichever position best suits your trailer setup.

by:

The ordering was easy and quick. It arrived on schedule and it was easy to install. I did not use the product for a pontoon boat. I used it on my 22 foot off shore fishing boat trailer to act as a guide on the rear of the trailer when loading my boat. I did not use the tubing over the bracket. I installed rollers on the inside and mounted my trailer lights near the top of the brackets to keep them out of the water when loading and unloading the boat. It looks perfect and I know it will work well for my needs.

by:

I have not used these yet and won’t be until spring as I live in MN. I will be installing them on my boat lift not on a trailer. I usually go out fishing alone. If there is any wind at all, even mild wind, it Is very difficult to keep the back part of the boat in the center of the lift while going to the front to turn the wheel to lift the boat up. I can hold the front of the boat in the center of the lift with one hand and turn the lifting wheel with the other hand. This should work well to keep the boat very close to exact center when coming in from fishing. I will adjust the Guide Ons so they are about 2” outside of the rear rim of the boat.

by:

I received these post guides for my Yacht Club trailer to guide my 20 foot pontoon on to the trailer bunks. I installed them on Wednesday to the trailer about 2 inches from the inside of the pontoons. I did add some sections of hose over the threaded ends of the clamps to prevent any damage to the pontoons in the event that the boat would approach the trailer off center. My wife and I loaded the boat on the trailer this Thursday and it went on slick and easy as could be.

by:

Easy installation and allows boat to drive on with no worries of not being lined up properly on the trailer. Would recommend the CE post style guide-ons for loading your pontoon boat.

by:

I have a pontoon boat , and it was very hard to line up the boat especially with any wind blowing to get the boat out of the water onto the trailer . Now it is so simple , I bought 2 sets one for the back of the trailer and one for half way up the trailer . best thing I have bought, these are a must - lance y,

by:

I attached these pontoon boat trailer guide ons yesterday. They made a huge difference when I trailed our 20' pontoon boat. They are more substantial than I expected and mounted easily in about 10 minutes with all included hardware.

E-trailer web site was very user friendly and they shipped immediately.

by:

These Guide-Ons were the best purchase I ever made. When I drive our pontoon onto the trailer it does not even have to be perfectly straight, the boat is forced into place every time.
